Excellent quality for the price ($37). Ripe peach, grilled nuts and a touch of guava. Oak has been absorbed. Ticks all the boxes of a quality Australian Chardonnay. This wine is drinking great. Silver Oak can be pretty tannic, especially the Alexander Valley. 10 years in, that has mellowed and you’re getting some nice fruit and secondary flavors. Chloe V-Day gift. — 2 years ago

The SO Alexanders all need a mandatory, 10 year cooling-off period. After a decade, the ridiculous oak has faded and you're left with an integrated Cabernet that I'd blind taste against anything...ANYTHING from California or Bordeaux. Might not come in first but it will be accounted for. Before that mandatory 10-spot, it's coming in last every single time. Just sayin.'

Xmas Eve quaff. Delicate and subtle presentation on the nose and palate. Restrained in every way. Notes of citrus and beeswax combine on the nose with a light honied sweetness on the mid palate.
