This is drinking well right now. Tannic but lush and quite open. Long finish and love the acidity here — 2 months ago

Great wine — 5 months ago
Significantly better than the 2008 Lynch-Bages I had the other night.
Domaine De Chevalier is one of the more underrated or under appreciated Bordeaux producers.
The nose shows; beautiful dry, red flowers, black currants, brambly blackberries, ripe; dark cherries & strawberries, black plum, hints of raspberries, anise, dry herbs, mid baking spices, loamy earthiness, dark spice, dry tobacco/leather, graphite, barrel toast, bright red flowers and liquid violets.
M+ dark meaty tannins. Ripe, juicy, gorgeous fruits; black currants, brambly blackberries, dark cherries & strawberries, black plum, hints of raspberries, red licorice, red to mid berry cola, touch of black licorice, anise, dry herbs, mid baking spices-light clove/nutmeg, cinnamon & light vanillin, dark spices with a little palate heat, loamy earthiness, dark spice w/ some palate heat, dry tobacco/leather, graphite, charcoal, pebbles, some soft mushroom, barrel toast, bright red flowers and liquid violets. Really nice rainfall acidity, well tensioned/structured still w/ age, nicely balanced with an elegant, smartly polished finish that lasts minutes and long sets on spice & earth.
15 yrs of good drinking ahead.

This is finally drinking.
Nose: fleeting endless white flowers. Deep. Dense. Endless. Liquid white flowers. Insane.
Palate: a perfectness. Silky. A touch of richness. A presence. Magnificent. Reverberates.
A perfectness about this. A gleaming golden harmony that transcends any tasting note and exceeds the limits of language. .

Beautiful straw color with apple and citrus notes. Paired with vichychoise and halibut. — 5 months ago

Previous bottle opened a few months ago was very tired, but tonight we are back to form. Plenty of ripe and lean orchard fruit with a drop of lemon. Lots coming through for a village wine, both in terms of flavors as well as density. Very good now. — 2 months ago
2005 drunk in 2025. Delicious even though the cork crumbled. Gorgeous color, full body, a bit grassy and green apple. — 2 months ago
Medium deep garnet, ruby core with medium light garnet rim . This is quite meaty and deep on the nose , with earthy dark cherry , porcini , sweet blackberry and spiced sous bois . On the palate this is quite severe and serious , darker fruits , ripe blackberry , cherry and hint of blackcurrant, herbal hints. Quite gritty , slightly drying tannins , fresh acidity . Earthy , dusty dark cherry edged finish , ok medium length. Quite ambitious for a village and arguably not ready yet , tannins need a little more time to integrate. From now and over the next 5 years, if not longer . — 3 months ago
