Rollin' the Deiss!
This wine needs time in decanter. Slightly (and pleasantly) oxidized. Very traditionally crafted... there's a lightness to the texture and savory earthy character. No powerhouse Pinot. Not for the Kosta Browne lovers. My type of PN. — 10 years ago
Broad, sappy and almost Nebbiolo-like on entry. On the palate, it becomes pure class...the way that Savigny in the hands of masters (Bize, Rollin, Cornu) always does. Taut, mannerly and entirely 2010ish. Years to go, but just fine right now. — 7 years ago
A bottle I had a couple of years ago was much more expressive than this one. This needed aggressive swirling and lots of air to coax the aromatics. The palate had a nice core of cherry fruit that became more apparent the more air it received. — 8 years ago
Rollin solo so I went for the shawty. — 9 years ago
Pale lemon with aromas of citrus and stone fruits, aged for 14 months in French oak, 20% new. On the palate apple and lemon flavors with hints of sweet spice. Long rich finish, well balanced with lively acidity ending with minerality. Very Nice! Tasting Sample. — 6 years ago
Rollin Soles new project. Chalky minerality with nice citrus rind. Old world stylistically. Interesting and delicious. — 7 years ago
Since 1987, winemaker Rollin Soles and viticulturist Allen Holstein have teamed up to produce wines from low-yielding vines, receiving11 Wine Spectator Top 100 designations. Aromas of berry fruit and herb citrus notes. On the palate cherry and blackberry with orange citrus, spice and toasty oak notes. Fine earthy tannins, lingering ending with earthy mineral notes. — 9 years ago

Big Wave Dave
Amazing p/q. Dark, ruby. Lots of sauvage and smoked meat on the nose. Palate is balanced and marries sweet dark fruit concentration with spice and distinct floral/herbal perfume. Nice acid giving perfect balance. Almost Nuit Village level for 1/2 the price. — 6 years ago
