Rollin' the Deiss!
This wine needs time in decanter. Slightly (and pleasantly) oxidized. Very traditionally crafted... there's a lightness to the texture and savory earthy character. No powerhouse Pinot. Not for the Kosta Browne lovers. My type of PN. — 10 years ago

Broad, sappy and almost Nebbiolo-like on entry. On the palate, it becomes pure class...the way that Savigny in the hands of masters (Bize, Rollin, Cornu) always does. Taut, mannerly and entirely 2010ish. Years to go, but just fine right now. — 7 years ago

A bottle I had a couple of years ago was much more expressive than this one. This needed aggressive swirling and lots of air to coax the aromatics. The palate had a nice core of cherry fruit that became more apparent the more air it received. — 8 years ago

Wow. 3 liter decanted between 2 decanters. Pretty sure Rollin said July budbreak with harvest in 3rd week of October in 1999. This wine is incredible, fresh, young, open for hours and kept getting better. — 9 years ago
