30 years old and still bringing it. Drank with my blushing bride of 51 years on Valentine’s Day. It was a good choice. Both. — 9 months ago

Côtes De Blaye Merlot Blend 2017

Plummy and almost a little smoky. Love the texture. It became a much softer wine after aerating, and on the second day had lost most of its bite. — 5 years ago

Réserve Côtes du Rhône White Rhone Blend 2012

Fresh grape, hay, anise, white flowers and a touch of peach, this is a very flowery nose, full of promise and intriguing. The palate is very dense: wide, long with a grip, a soft touch, a bit of a round thing in mid palate. Peach and and anise all along the acid backbone. A very long finish with a bit of peach and some freshness. In the end there is an everlasting layer of anise and hay. This is very good! — 6 years ago

Domaine Prieuré Roch

Clos de Vougeot Pinot Noir 2007

Of extreme rarity, the mythical and cult-like wines of Prieure Roch really do show such singularity. Grand Cru Clos Vougeot, with vines planted as far back as 1929 and situated in what is a coveted sub-section “terroir royal,” is perhaps their best wine along with Clos de Beze. 2007 is showing superbly, combining the elegance of the vintage with the power of the site with captivatingly complex aromatics and a juicy, earthy and floral mineral inflicted core and a finish that keeps on going. This was simply magical after some air. Special wine. — 9 months ago

Le Clos Goillotte Vosne-Romanée Pinot Noir 1999

More natural than I prefer for burg, but still great. Took an hour or so to open up so that the Pinot and vosne quality shined. Idk what the oak regime was in this vintage but I couldn’t taste much. Very diffuse, earthy and a little funky. — 8 years ago

Domaine Prieuré Roch

Le Cloud Ladoix Pinot Noir 2017

There are years where the fickleness of the weather prevent the even ripening of all the grapes on the bunches, and as the grapes cannot be harvested before the stems themselves fully ripen, on these years any extra ripe grapes will detach themselves from the stem while on the “table de tri”(sorting table). Since the traditional Burgundy vinification methods require the grapes to be fermented “entière” (in whole bunches) the loose berries are not used, despite being wonderfully ripe. — 5 years ago

Cuvée Tour Joviac La Prieuré d'Arras St. Joseph Syrah 2014

This is a 100 % organic Syrah grown on decomposed granite hillsides in Saint Joseph, displaying violet, ripe black fruits with hint of dried blueberry, black pepper and vanilla. Slightly musky, dusty, med plus body with great acidity and med plus tannin. A wonderful Saint Joseph has depth, structure, and fruitiness. — 7 years ago
