Light golden color. Aromas of green apple, white flowers, citrus and a slight hint of freshly cut grass and leafy herbs. Flavors of lemon, grapefruit, green melon and chalky minerality. Medium-plus finish and bright acidity. Medium bodied, silky texture and quite refreshing. Enjoyed at Keith and Karyn’s New Years Day brunch. — 5 months ago
Pascal et Nicolas Reverdy – Sancerre Rosé “Terre de Maimbray” 2016
Loire Valley, France 🇫🇷
Overview
From the limestone-rich slopes of Maimbray, Reverdy crafts this 100% Pinot Noir rosé, showing how Sancerre can shine not only in whites but also in elegant, age-worthy rosés. Though Sancerre is world-famous for Sauvignon Blanc, about 20% of its vineyards are planted to Pinot Noir, which can be vinified as red or rosé. This bottle demonstrates just how gracefully a Loire rosé can evolve with time.
Aromas & Flavors
Wild strawberry, raspberry, and redcurrant with rose petals and dried herbs. With age, subtle tones of candied orange peel and a light spice develop, adding dimension without overpowering.
Mouthfeel
Silky and rounded, with acidity still intact to keep it lively. Medium-bodied with a savory edge, balancing freshness and maturity.
Food Pairing
Perfect alongside charcuterie, grilled salmon, or roast chicken. The evolved texture also makes it a great partner for mushroom risotto or lentil dishes.
Verdict
A rare aged rosé that proves Pinot Noir from Sancerre can deliver both finesse and staying power. Still vibrant after 9 years, this wine highlights Reverdy’s skill and the region’s versatility beyond Sauvignon Blanc. — 8 months ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of 90 minutes. The 2023 pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with powerful notes of tart and ripe, citrus and tropical, fruit: grapefruit, passionfruit, white and yellow flowers, alfalfa, jalapeño pepper, and flinty minerals . On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. Drink now. — 10 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2024 “Les Monts Damés” pours a straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with white flowers, grapefruit, star fruit, alfalfa, and cream cheese stuffed poblano pepper. There’s also this Double Bubble thing going on. Wild stuff. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. In a world of increasing ambiguity, I love that this is immediately identifiable as Sancerre. Drink now through 2034+. — 4 months ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2019 “Les Romains” pours a bright, pale yellow color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of bright, tropical and citrus, fruits: grapefruit, starfruit, lemon; a touch grassy with fresh herbs and a whole lot of flint. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is long and a touch creamy. This bottle was absolutely bangin’! Drink now through 2029. — 10 months ago
