Tad oxidative, high concentration of pyrazines- green bell pepper and fresh peppercorn. Black-fruited, mid-full weight with graphite, menthol, licorice, plums and red currant. Great value for a second label, about 80% Merlot. — 6 years ago

2015 vintage. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. If you are looking for blockbusters this might not be your thing. I used to think of Fronsac as very rustic wines that often lacked charm, but these days many fine wines can be found here. This one is all about elegance and gentle extraction. Ripe cassis and flowers in the nose. Gentle and effortless in the mouth, elegant and fresh with good spicy minty length. Lovely. Abv. 13,5 %. — 3 years ago
2008 is lovely right now. Great balance of fruit, earth, and wood. — 5 years ago

Had 2009 vintage at home Nice but not great — 7 years ago
Red & black fruits, some eucalyptus and mint with noticeable chocolate, cloves and cinnamon on the nose. Black cherries medium plus acid dry and some chalky tannins with cloves, cinnamon and minerals on the Finish. tastes younger than its 13 years of age. A really good wine for the price. — 8 years ago
Strong fruit, raspberry , bone dry finish. An outstanding wine 🙂 — 8 years ago
Lovely, ripe nose of cassis, huckleberry, tobacco, plum and spice. Lovey minerality. Very fine and refined. Palate is juicy and structured with lovely purity, length and balance. Really showing well. Love Fronsac when it is on. Outstanding length. Nose is bright and high toned. Such a lively bottle of Bordeaux. Great fruit soak on the finish and terrific mineral infused texture. 9.3. Maybe 9.4 with air. Much better than my last bottle. Nose has cocoa now. Big plum. Classic right bank satellite vibes. Unreal juiciness. Tangy cassis. — 3 years ago

Smooth and balanced acidity. Let it decant fora min of 30 min (25 yr.) Undergrowth, burnt cranberries, spicy sausage, sweet red fruits, hints of vanilla. Love the complexity for less than 20 EUR — 6 years ago
Fabulous! Had with a French classic Boeuf Bourguignon. Stuttgart 2008. Bold and smooth. — 7 years ago
Canon Fronsac, how is it that you offer such good values?!? Terroir aplenty at an affordable price and my wife likes it. — 8 years ago

2019 vintage. Château La Fleur Cailleau, Canon-Fronsac. Bought in 1982 by Paul Barré (also Château La Garde, Fronsac) and managed these days by his son Gabriel and his wife Edith. Biodynamically farmed since 1990. Very impressive indeed, with an exemplary purity of fruit, ripe tannin and energetic acidity. Highly recommended. Abv. 14,5%. — 2 years ago
