@Delectable Wine : This is the Late Disgorged BdB.
My bottle as part of a bubbles lineup with a local group. Other standouts were 2008 Cristal, 2004 Dom, Krug 168, Schramsberg Reserve LD 2004, and the unanimous winner, 2004 Charles Heidsieck Blanc de Millenaire.
Lots of fun comparing this to the 2004 LD Reserve version. I’ve been fortunate to have a lot of older Schramsberg and my thoughts remain the same…JSchram with age is my preference whereas I love the Reserve young.
Super leesy. 17yrs on the lees to be exact. It sports a baked profile aromatically (baked tropical fruits), fresh lemon scone, orange marmalade, and honey roasted nuts. Rich and full-bodied on the palate with a profile reminiscent of aged Le Mesnil. Great acidity and mousse. Slight truffle flair, alongside caramel apple, baking spices, and buttered honey braid. The only note missing from this to make it a dead ringer for old champagne is limestone. Otherwise, this was gorgeous. The Reserve shows much more youth at this age as well as red berry fruit, but texturally, this can’t be beat. Drink up. — 2 years ago
Still a young wine, but full of flavor. Strong notes of dark fruit like cherries, blackberries, raspberries. Finishes smoothly with chocolate and oak. — 4 years ago

Very nice smooth finish — 3 years ago
Drinking the 2017 in 2021. Nose is rich with blackberry and blueberry. Lighter on the palate, with hints s of blackberry, strawberry and ripe fruit. Light and smooth with very low tannins. Oaks and a light earthy finish. Very nice wine. Wish I had a few bottles to set aside for about five years. — 4 years ago
You really can't give this one a very true rating right now. This bottle still has a lot of red fruited baby fat. After about 3 hours of air, it started to settle into more of a black cherry with hints of blackberry kind of a wine. But it definitely was not like that sooner. It is amazing how 15 years seems to be the dividing line and the characteristics change so much. It took a little coaxing. This one has a fair amount of herb influence. Also has some menthol or eucalyptus. Not sure that was there when I tried one of these even earlier. Overall, I make no apologies for opening this one now. It is still a very good wine. But when you know how these drink at 15 to 20 years, you know that it will continue to develop and change so much. Still a lot of stiff oak astringency at the moment. — 5 years ago
Very nice balanced tannins and fruit and finish. Like it a lot. Drinkable, and drinking well now. — 6 years ago
Yeah it’s just so damn layered and delicious, big punch of acidity but that extroverted fruit and I assume decent dosage to round things out - makes it a pairing ace. It is so enjoyable even as it completely loses all bubbles and comes to room temp in the glass, which is the mark of a great 🍾 IMHO. Paired well with pan seared Barramundi and Caesar salad #schramsberg #blancdeblancs — 10 months ago
12 year anniversary, delightful with steak, I’m sure would last 12 more years. — 4 years ago
Another great grenache from t-vine. I remember not loving this wine 7 years ago, but wow it has come together over time. Paired with homemade cannelloni — 4 years ago
They didn’t rest on their laurels after the Judgement of Paris! Chateau Montelena’s Calistoga Zinfandel is overloaded with notes of Red Cherries with an aged bourbon finish. Light bodied, garnet red with minimal tannins, excellent alone or with a bit of truffle salted mozzarella. — 7 years ago
