W&S Top 100. Come one, you know me. Loire Cab Franc in the lineup. The brass from W&S must have known I was coming. I’d happily buy that. — 6 years ago

Year of the Monkey Single Vineyard Russian River Pinot Noir 2016

Weekend in San Jose for the Queen concert!! Enjoying a pinot and the pool! Pop and pour (young...would of loved a few more years on the bottle). A fascinating dark ruby red. On the nose: red fruit, plum, vanilla, olives. Taste: bright red cherry, spice, herbs, some chocolate...nice concentration and finish with a little tannic kick. — 6 years ago

Monkey Tree

Loncomilla Valley Red Blend 2015

ā€˜Reserva’. Nice balanced red blend. Has a vibrant, robust nose. Flavors are bitter, sweet, herbal, forestal, and clean. Hits with a bit of licorice and plenty of ā€˜complex’ red wine action. I’m a sucker for this tree too. It’s just so cool... — 6 years ago

This Pa brewery is rocking my world. Close my eyes and taste this, and I drift back to my time when I lived in Waterloo, Brussels. Label says 9.5% abv, but it’s tucked in nicely. Woody notes on the palate, with cardamom, cloves and licorice. Heart-warming as it slips down the hatch. Well done! — 6 years ago

Yes, @Dawn E. It’s where the final land battle took place. If you visit the museum there, you’d be forgiven for thinking that Napoleon won! Still, I enjoyed my time there... but the food and beers were to die for!

In my opinion, the lower ratings are probably caused by not holding the wine long enough. Nice wine at this point. — 8 years ago
