I don’t drink very much cognac and can’t remember when or where I picked up this bottle, but a small pour sounded good to end a cold and snowy day. Light in color. Body feels light at first, but gains viscosity. Spicy, oaky, and a little astringent on the finish. It reminded more of some really good scotch I’ve had than of some slightly sweeter cognacs. I liked it a lot. — 5 years ago
Secret weapon. As the monopole owner of the ‘Clos Napoléon’, Pierre Gelin is the sole producer of this wine. The 1988 has aged BEAUTIFULLY. Mushroom, funk, dusty leather, play second fiddle to pure tart red fruit. Cranberries and tart raspberries. For the price, this is a STEAL. — 5 years ago
Had it with Tony for thanksgiving 2022. “Maybe the best we’ve ever had!” — 3 years ago
Wow. I have had this on the shelf for four years. Have been leery to pop the cork for fear it had turned skunky. Has best by date of 09-2016 on label. I am pleased to report it has survived cellaring. Chocolate Ale w/ Raspberry. 9.1% ABV. Raspberry colored. Very good! Celebrating KC Chief’s win over Miami Dolphins. Gooooo Chieffffffs! — 5 years ago

This is No 9 bought around 10years ago and the bottle says best before June 2021..
I tasted a bit just after buying it and it tasted too sour for me. So I decided to recap and wait till it be matured well. .. and I forgot this one years.. today I reopen it. Not feeling the too strong taste I sensed last time. A little bubbling like traditional ale but strong enough to enjoy with Japanese pickled things such as kirikomi, Hokkaido-style fermented salty mackerel and Itsumi, salted sea-urchine — 3 months ago
