One of the best example of ripe style California Chardonnay I have ever had. It hits with a savory character of grilled pineapple, then gives away to a variety of ripe stone fruit, a roux of spiced oak and even further back, a crushed rock minerality that keeps the ensemble lifted and enticing. The pallet is even more surprising as it confirms the stone fruit, adds a touch of citrus and slaps you with tingling stony acidity that keeps going and going. The juxtaposition of opulence and lean elegance is outstanding. After drinking through some flabby 2018s recently, this is a smacking reminder of why I fell in love with Jim’s wines to begin with. 2018 vintage. Last tasted 8.26.22 (9.3) and 7.21.21 (9.3). Medium/medium-heavy body. Slightly less end palate lift than last two encounters and tasting like it is in that proverbial "state of confusion...er...transition." Would like to taste again and will give it 3-4 years before revisiting to do this justice. Pretty unified now without side projects and ancillary rabbit holes but something tells me this has another third act of mayhem and debauchery up its' sleeve. 07.09.25. — 5 months ago
Apparently this translates to “up all night” or something heeeeeyyyyy — a year ago
The first day of opening this wine it was harsh and stuffy. I was not impressed. However, on the second day, this wine opened up and became very light and flavorful - a juicy Pinot Noir of jammy cherry and berries. — 4 years ago

Malo, butter, minerality, orchard fruit.
Really pretty Burgundian style chard.
Just ripe green fruit. Crisp. Tantalizing. Mineral.
Long finish on the fruit. Would be nice to lay down. — 5 months ago
