Good creamy rich smooth had at blue hill — 8 years ago
Had it at Blue Hills Grille. Liked it.1 — 8 years ago
Finding ways to stay warm post bombogenesis. Deep, deep garnet in the glass. Super extracted, it literally stains the glass as you swirl. Still very tightly wound, this has a very long life ahead. Dark red and blue fruits, violets, creme de cassis, hints of smoke, grippy tannins, and some bay leaf / wild herbs. Gorgeous with a 2 hour decant, but will be even better with a few more years on it.
Sincere thanks to the HFIC @Martin G Rivard for this beauty. Like rays from the Sunshine State, this baby is warming me up tonight! — 9 years ago

Teeth staining depth with blue fruits, spice and gobs of tannin here that will take a few years to integrate and unleash all the promise — 10 years ago

Fantastic offering from Diamond Creek, this 2006 is terrific. Classic Napa Cab nose loaded with intense aromas of blue and black fruits, with just a hint of earthiness on the edge. Full-bodied with just enough acidity to keep it moving, I have to imagine that this is pretty much at peak right now. — 10 years ago
This wine is deep ruby in color with just a little light getting through the glass. The nose is pretty and flowery and fruity at first, but Mr. Savory sneaks in after it opens up a bit. Right at the top of the glass are smoky, leathery spices and earth. The palate is full of black and blue berries with a layer of minerals over them. The earthy component lasts well into the finish. — 10 years ago

Off dry Riesling with a slight oaky taste. Pleasant local wine. — 7 years ago
Really delicious and easy to drink. Lighter in body than you’d expect from a Shiraz. Bright blue and black fruit, some florals, and nice grip without being too tannic.Great weeknight wine! — 8 years ago
First winery on day two in Sonoma was Donelan Family Wines in Santa Rosa with Meredith. The last Rhone varietal red was the Walker Vine Hill Syrah. Sadly we were told that this was the last vintage that will be produced. This bottling is made up of 100% Syrah and is around 40-50% whole cluster fermented then aged for 20 months in 25% new French oak. 1,025 cases produced.
Insanely dark and inky purplish ruby red, completely coats the glass. Dark berries on the start of the nose followed up by cinnamon, cocoa, blueberries and some dustiness. Medium plus tannins (7/10) with a full body. Rich and layered palate with red currants, red plums, even a touch of blue fruits and some solid minerality. Long and lingering finish. Drink till 2028. $$$ - Tasted at the winery. Retail price is $75.00. — 8 years ago
Excellent value from a great producer. Deep and earthy, bit more full bodied than you might expect. Aromatic and mouth filling with a long finish. Excellent choice from the somm at Blue Hill Stone Barns. — 9 years ago
Musty, little cedar, new leather, red fruit, blue fruit, black currant, chemically?minerality (leather polish, green cleaner?) definitely drinkable now — 9 years ago
Very interesting blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Malbec. Blue fruit and mint on the nose followed by wonderful tastes of blueberry, plums and baking spice on the palate. Tannins are very nicely integrated. A very nice every day drinker. — 10 years ago

Blue Hill NYC - May 2012 — 13 years ago
I’m partial because of where it’s from, but really drinkable and smooth. Went well with my steak and blue cheese wedge salad. — 8 years ago
Rich blue fruits and a substantial structure of fine tannins. Nice now with a good decant, but this one needs time to integrate and mellow. High potential, but too early to fully enjoy. — 9 years ago

We Aussies are rightly proud of our Shiraz and Shiraz blends but we have to take our hat off for a wine like this. An exercise in perfectly executed restraint. Some spice and a hint of pepper. Medium bodied. Notes made a few days later. A brilliant wine from Blue Hill at Stone Barns. 2006 vintage. — 10 years ago
