Only 15.4 abv🤷🏼‍♂️.
This is right up there with any 100 point wines Bevan has made,
Gotta admit though the alcohol does become more evident on the nose after 30 min, reminds of the 2012 Scarecrow nose — 8 years ago

Wow @Paul T this one is full bodied. Dark candied cherries, and an overload of tar, pencil lead and black fruit. The label says Pinot but the jury is out on that. — 9 years ago

@Paul T yeah check it out! I definitely think there was an orange blossom thing in block 18 that the regular didn't have but both were unusual pinots!

Kick Ranch, Tench Vineyard, Ritchie Vineyard not sure which is my favorite. Trench more acidic and mineral driven with a great mouth feel. Glad to have each of them in different ways. — 13 years ago

Love the unfiltered. All Russell's wines are great but I don't think there is a better Cali sav blanc out there, let alone for the price. Russell and Victoria great people too!

@romo i didn’t have this on release, so hard to compare. Still fruit forward, but certainly some savory elements including a hint of bacon.

Deep purplish red. After an hour or so in the decanter this was still tight with green notes and a little black cherries. Finally on day two there were tons of 'Bevan' fruits, black and blue with tons of cinnamon and vanilla. Heavy tannins (8/10) and full bodied. This lost a little bit of weight in the mid palate but beefed up on day two. Tons of structure and dark cherries on day one with a slightly stoney and savory finish. Day two brought in the same characteristics as the nose, tons of blue and black fruits as well as cinnamon and vanilla. A touch of heat in the long finish that should dissipate with time. Should be in a sweet spot in about 7 years or so. Drink from 2018 till 2030. (94+) — 9 years ago

@Bill Bender I think somewhere around 7, but some years are more and some are less. This one is 50% Cabernet Franc and 50% Cabernet Sauvignon I believe

How are kids supposed to learn the art of blowing spit wads at the kid in front of them at school with no straws! That was the best thing to do, especially with In & Out burger’s straws, biggest diameter straw out there

The cork was questionable in comparison to the last bottle, but didn't seem to matter. Lovely nose filled with flowers but you can really feel the heat of the 15.5% alcohol. Nice tar and smoke on the palate, and an extremely long finish! Probably drank this just in time! — 9 years ago
