Third night on the Allure of the Seas and back at Chops Grille. Fourth wine out of the case we brought on board.
Deep and dark purplish red. Thick and powerful nose with layers of roasted meats, black olives, spices, petrol, dark berries and tobacco leaves. More nuances kept coming out as it had time to breathe. Heavy tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. Voluptuous palate with layers of cola, black tea, cinnamon and juicy black berries. A touch of heat in the undertones. Delicious and powerful syrah with a lot of time left in it. Drink till 2029.

Can’t believe I’m saying this about a 10 year old Bevan, but had enough tannic structure for another 10 years😳, thought I grabbed a 2013 or newer Syrah by mistake.
