Best white at last week’s trade tasting. — 6 years ago
Can you ever have too many Burgundies to taste? Wonderful trade tasting. The Gros Frere et soeur wines don’t get additional sulphur so they seem older and wilder than many of the wines at the tasting. The Vougeot has the stuffing to balance the wildness. — 7 years ago
Just as baffled as every time when stripping down a bottle of Miani; how the heck is this possible…!? ’15 Chardonnay; Big, bold and broad shouldered but with a vibrant and linear freshness to it, with its trade mark electric minerality, both on the nose and the palate. Hitting all the clusters with full power in complete balance thanks to the sharp and vibrant mineral backbone . The 14.5 (!) % abv is barely being noticed, more than acting as a supporting role in the unity by providing even further structure throughout the finish. A powerlifter that is out-dancing the ballerina. Rating is conservative... — 8 years ago
Class act at the Legion of Honor to see Degas, Impressionism and the Paris Millinery Trade. Black pepper, cassis. Mineral, savory. With pork stew. #seasonchange — 8 years ago
How else to warm up for a trade tasting of invigorating Champagne this afternoon? Penetrating Sercial Madeira from the year that brought us the Boy Scouts of America. If wine were merit badges perhaps I'd nearly be an Eagle by now... After this evening's tasting I'll have quite a heavy merit badge sash for Champagne -an obsession that can reach no surfeit -it becomes more fascinating and evermore nuanced. For the moment however I'm awash in crushed kumquats in honey, marmalade, hazelnuts and roast peanuts -all layered among so much more in one of the richest Sercial Madeiras I've tried to date. — 9 years ago
I am such a fan of Priority and Carles does such a consistently amazing job. This 2016 has deep tobacco flavors with the earthy tones of Grattallops. I will not trade this wine for anything in the new world. @closlobac — 5 years ago
Rarely try an Argentinian Syrah but here we have one - courtesy of Marcus who has been in the wine trade for 40 years in the Cotswolds. This was medium to full bodied with a savoury Northern Rhone aspect to it with a touch of raspberry on the second day. Enjoyable. — 6 years ago

Bright red fruit. Almost like it could be a Grenache grown in Chinon. Trade mark bell pepper and vegetal aromas intact. — 8 years ago
Juicy and a little over ripe — 8 years ago
This pops with vibrant strawberry and kirsch, but continues reverberating with incense, citrus peel, damp chalk, and licorice. I would happily spend $15 again, but this gives me the confidence to trade up to Halos Gigondas or Chateauneuf du Pape the next time around.
Finally trying this label... Considering the esteem to which I hold Philippe Cambie and my love for Grenache, it's been a long time coming. Cambie, along with a Michel Gassier, produce Grenache-focused bottlings from nearly all the Southern Rhone AOCs under the Halos de Jupiter label. To Cambie, Grenache is the king of all grapes, thus the comparison to Jupiter (Zeus in Greek), forming the basis of the label. The halo symbolizes the appellations that best express the personality of Grenache. http://www.philippecambie.com/en/les-halos-de-jupiter/ — 9 years ago

Carlos Pastrana and Clos L'Obac may be my favorite wine maker and winery of the decade. Sharing with the wife and wine trade daughter Aly. Tobacco, dates, dried fruit a big boy wine that finishes a great 60th Bday — 6 years ago
The more I drink wines like this, the more I understand how the purveyors in the old school London wine trade love Veneto wines. There’s a comfort, texture and weight here that is both as familiar and as useful as classic luncheon claret. #calabionda #valpolicellaripasso — 7 years ago
A fabulously luscious. 2013 vintage. January 2018. Boston at Trade — 8 years ago
Hints of fair trade Dragon fruit , tulaberry, and Adamantium on the palate. In all seriousness, it's a great value at $20. A little oaky, a little smoky, went great with grilled bone-in pork chops. — 9 years ago
Super exposed to trade winds, Canary Islands, some of the only original root stock, very fun. The Mission Grape — 9 years ago
