Surprise surprise…so varietally accurate. Beautiful balance and finesse!! — 2 months ago
This wine is very dark. It has a fragrant nose, full of blue and black fruit, flowers, cedar, green pepper, and an underlying earthiness. The palate is fruity and rich, with blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries. There is a bright acidity matched with gentle tannins. The finish is medium long and carries the fruit as a lasting memory. — 6 months ago
Hitting its stride 13 years in. Red fruit, licorice, earth and red candy. — 6 months ago
This wine looks yellow-gold with a greenish tint to it. The nose is quite aromatic, displaying a floral note along with massive citrus minerality. The palate has lemon, lime and grapefruit flavors joined by a wonderful salinity. The acidity is very fresh, but the mouthfeel has, overall, a rather soft touch. It’s great to find a Vermentino of this quality that’s made in America. Virginia is for Vermentino lovers, I suppose. — 7 months ago
Floral, aromatic, citrus, tropical. Nice mouthfeel, low acidity, great with Asian food. — 3 years ago

Bought this at the winery last month. I was surprised how good the wines were. Maybe I was a bit prejudiced. How could the state where I live make good wines? This has a surprisingly youthful and deep color. I love the nose. Deep, sweet berries, some warm sandstoney gravel, a wee vanillin sweetness from some nicely restrained oak. Very right-bankish in the mouth. There’s some fruit, but cedary notes and clay-like minerality are quite prominent. Tannins very soft and resolved. Finish is long. Seems fully mature. — 2 months ago
