Ash Hollow

Estate Grown Sleepy Hollow Vineyard Pinot Noir 2012

We had the 2012 Vintage on 9/24-25/21. This is a full bodied, well balanced Pinot Noir. The bouquet is wonderful with black fruit and cardomom. The palate has bing cherry, wild strawberry, oak and even a little vanilla. A very good wine. — 5 years ago

Logan Sleepy Hollow Vineyard Chardonnay 2014

Founded in 1982 Robert Talbott Sr., his wife Audrey, and their son Robb, with the planting of the 24-acre Diamond T Estate Vineyard and the construction of the first winery in Carmel Valley. Aromas of crisp fruit with scents of oak and floral. On the palate apple and pear flavors with sweet citrus notes and tangy acidity. Lingering finish ending with a creamy texture — 8 years ago

Monthly WTF group recap. Theme this month was “bring something special”. Normally we taste all of the wines blind, but we decided to do a relaxed night with amazing wines at a great restaurant. Spectacular evening!

This was my contribution. Again, it was paired next to the filtered ‘11 vintage and the colors were incredibly different, with this being hay/straw colored with just a touch of cloudy appearance. If guessing blind, I would have called this Aubert SugarShack (which I love). Medley of lemon cream, marzipan and honeyed sea salt on the nose with a rich and powerful profile on the palate, yet it is nimble...perfectly balanced. Sweet oak, caramel dipped golden delicious apple at the finish.

What a pleasant surprise. Aromatic, balanced and smooth with a hint of pepper. Mrs A said “so lovely.”. Tasting wines to map out our annual wine buying trip in 2020 Stag’s Hollow has just been added to the list of stops. Cheers 🍷🇨🇦 — 7 years ago
