Long forgotten in some backwoods Colorado wine shop's mini-fridge, and procured for about half of market rate after 15 years of bespoke provenance rolling through alpine summers and frigid winters. The fresh flavors long having evolved... euphemistically "matured" into deep nutty butterscotch and aged gouda and pear cider on the palate, and a deep gold on the eyes. In all honesty, this Phoenix like anomaly pairs extraordinarily with an aperitivi of parm and salumi after a day's cross country skiing in single digit mountain air. — 5 years ago
Volatile number, with a nuclear mousse; big whipped cocoa pudding top pumping up like a volcanic island. Zero lacing, despite marathon persistence. Herbal jasmine and lavender in chocolate with black pepper scents. Orange peel, Cuba libre, ginger, and Old Spice-allspice. Finesse mouthfeel turns beef Bourgogne iron skillet de glace. There is a soy sauced tofu element, complete with green onion and black mushrooms. Not at all what I imagined, yeasty-malty salty-sluice-y and a real anomaly. This damned hairy ape! Is it even from this planet? — 6 years ago
It’s an anomaly to me why we don’t remember to cellar Zinfandel more often. This Turley from Lodi reminds me why we should. The aroma offers a distinctive patina - antique shop and dried roses, sage and thyme. At 21 years, the alcohol is still full throttle, but offers a very gratifying warmth. Thanks for bringing, Esther :) — 7 years ago
Was not expecting how complex this is. The finish is wild. This drinks like a premier Cru champagne but not like you'd be fooled by it, just that much mineral intensity and depth. Really transcending the terroir and varietal. This wine is some kind of anomaly of a character. I hope to cross paths with it again soon. Will buy lots. — 8 years ago
Last vintage from Bressler, grapes going to Anomaly vineyards now. Was on the customer list at the start for a few years and still have 01 and 02 (popped an 02 a year ago and it was great) in the cellar. Grabbed some 2014s at a great price. For Napa, Bressler was always worth seeking...premium valley floor fruit, Mia Klein winemaker, and under $100 release price.
1 hour decant (little sediment). A splended inky dark magenta color. On the nose: floral, sandlewood, black cherry and plum, cedar, vanilla marshmallows. Taste: Elegant and smooth, soft tannins with blackberry, blueberry, chocolate, with a spicy cedar medium plus finish....ready to go another 15 years. — 5 years ago

A feminine and unusually ripe Fleurie with pretty aromas of rose petals, wild strawberries, raspberry, and thyme. 2015 was a hot year in Beaujolais boosting this ABV up to 13% (I know because I called Polaner Selections having seen 12% and 14.5% on the internet and nothing specific on the bottle). The texture is perfect - pillowy soft and supple with a cool mouth slow to reveal an acidic underpinning. It is so impressive what Dutraive is able to come up with in an anomaly of a year. A beautifully murky wine bridging elegance and rusticity. — 7 years ago
Thanks @Martin G Rivard much better experience than my 2012, unfortunately the 12 arrived with some TCA so I returned the 3 pack to the winery and never tried again. 14 shows me the 12 was an anomaly.

We had the 2013 Vintage on 8/16-17/20. The prior bottle was bad, an anomaly. This has all the characteristics and tastes of a good Napa floor Cab. Blackberry, cherry, cassis and vanilla. Full bodied, well balanced, fruit forward, New World wine. — 5 years ago
Slipping into the weekend, workday done ✅, lawn mown ✅ and bottles chilling 🍾🧊, so it's time to relax before the heat wave hits us tomorrow. 🌞🏜️
This bottle appears more inline to our prior experiences with the 2017 iteration. Last bottle was an anomaly.
Nose has mashed black cherries & strawberries, new leather and minor anise notes. Quite Beaujolais-like.
Palate has tannic cherries, grilled fennel, under-ripe plum, wet gravel, nice acidity and a fresh/fruity quality.
A pretty good wine, I still feel the 2017 version has the edge over this 2018. — 5 years ago
Slightly translucent ruby color, medium complex nose with sharp cherries dominating a dark fruit backbone with gamy hints. Elegant, yet full, perfect balance with full oak integration, subtle tannins and med-high acidity. Ending in a long fruit driven finish with enough structure to make one long for more. A perfect, but exceptional vintage for asssobio. The vintage was bad, which caused the domain to use all their top vines to make just one wine, this one. A complete steal if you can find it, and a good anomaly to other assobio vintages. Douro can be great, if done right. — 6 years ago

This will throw you off. First impression this is a young Rhône. First taste this a Rhône. The wine is all about power, full bodied, meaty. Not a lot of fruit nor any hard tannins. The wine is round and fills your mouth. Only on the back of your tongue you start experiencing some salinity and some of the typical barnyard Pinot. Not your regular clos de la roche, you either consider this as an anomaly or you can really like it. I decided to like it as a monumental effort but I am surprised it is a clos de l roche of one of the best producers. — 4 years ago
