Great wine. Think 0.2 is added due to the scenery — 3 months ago

Lovely, crisp, clean still after all these years. — 2 months ago
I’ve loved the wines from Alpha Estate for years but this was the first time trying the SMX blend. It did not disappoint. Full-bodied and dark, it produced flavors of blackberry, plum, chocolate, vanilla, and earth. Definitely needed some air before opening up fully, but it could have spent another couple of years in the bottle. 60% Syrah, 20% Merlot, 20% Xinomavro. 4/29/25. — 4 months ago

Lovely wine. Paired with venison. Decanted for a couple of hours. Full-bodied. Dark cherries, blackberries, a hint of dark chocolate, and Smokey. Very satisfying. — 3 months ago
Tasted in 2019 and thought it needed 3+ years, well worth the 6 years, softened nicely but still has time left — 5 months ago

As a Garnachista, I’m embarrassed to say that this, I think, is my first Garnacha from Sierra de Gredos. I may be late to the party but I showed up. Wonderful ripe Grenache fruit, loads of kirsch, a bit of raspberry. Powdered rock dust minerality. It’s a big boy. I broke my “No 15%” rule in buying this. But the alcohol seems balanced. Really nice flavor density. A surprising whack of tannin in the back half of the palate. Lots of savory flavors to augment the fruit. — 4 days ago
