Have had several vintages of this now (surprised I haven’t reviewed). Classy, old world style syrah that ages well. Took an hour to open up.

Alder Springs vineyard produces all sorts of varietals in Mendo. Pinot, gamay, syrah, chard, trousseau gris and so many more.

Most of the fruit tastes light and cool. Not this, this is chocolate and licorice. Forest floor, black cherry and saddle leather. Will age well for another 10-12yr. — 3 months ago

Nose: just an overwhelming feeling of freshness. Yellow flowers. Much more dense as this opens. Penetrating.

Palate: sweet minerals. Utterly delicious. Stone fruits. Pure mountain stream. More dense as it opens. Succulent. Juicy. Amazing.

There is a perfection about this. Terrific balance.
