Magnificent, full bodied, plush, decadent Aussie personalisation of a 'Super Tuscan' Cab Shiraz blend. Crafted by master winemaker Andrew Seppelt through Brett Hayes' pioneering newish kid off the block 'Hayes Family Wines'. Don't be fooled by the youth of Brett's venture, these wines display a history and heritage steeped in barossas's finest terroir, knowledge and nous. These are grapes from Barossa's hallowed Ebeneezer dirt, and Shultz vineyard dirt at that. But it's Andrew's knack for oeniological alchemy that extracts the finest from the blend, making a wine that is so plush, rounded and powerful it feels like donning your red velvet smoking jacket and sinking into a soft armchair in your best old slippers.
The only disappointing thing about this wine is that, in my humble opinion, it really needs a good 8-10 years of cellaring to reach its full potential. Have one now to enjoy it's youthful vibrancy and stash the rest of you can leave it alone!
I hear that this will be the only vintage blending both grapes from Barossa soil, so grab this unique vintage while you can. I believe future vintages with be Barossa Shiraz and Coonawarra Cab Sauv. The Aussie finest bride and groom upbringing of this pair. I can't wait to see what the future holds.

Ice wine, honey and melon on nose not to sicly high in sugar. Grapes gewurztraminer and riesling, peach apricot lychee — 8 years ago
Late add - tough ID for Delectable as this is the first time entered. This is from Bevela Wines, just released on Sunday. The unforeseen alchemy comes from the blend of 50% Le Bon Climat Teroldego with 50% Syrah, the latter from two vineyard sources. The Teroldego gives an aromatic and acidic lift to the more.traditional Syrah. Solid wine but will probably benefit from air
or additional bottle time. We had the first pour from a newly opened bottle. — 8 years ago
Always a favorite. Light Ruby, almost brick brown color. Clear, light enough you can see through it, medium+ viscosity. Bright, ripe red fruits on the nose, with tobacco, some oak. Palette sees tobacco, oak, sour fruit. Medium+ acid, extremely light and smooth tannins, long finish. Still on of the best values out there- looking forward to being in Carlton in November! — 9 years ago
This wine opens with a most intriguing aroma of concentrated (almost compote-like) red berries. Sweet-fruited, in the best possible way; almost reminiscent of Grenache. However the expansive, savory finish says "No! I'm Pinot." What alchemy is at work here? Carbonic, I wonder? So easy to drink! — 9 years ago
Really good minerals, first thing. Aromatic, but limited, like really honeyed sprite. Smells almost like an aged spatlese. Looks lightweight but has a slightly heavier body than appears, like gasoline does. Don’t get this confused with petrol taste, but the weight has that alchemy. Unlike Riesling it has a bitter and spicy phenolic note at the end that seems to come with more southern whites. Middle weight in reality. Good heavy orchard fruit. I like fiano and I’m still learning it’s limits. Every once and awhile I find a great one, but I want to learn what the typicality is. — 5 years ago

A fun way to meet Jean Charles and his new book Alchemy of the Senses. Bright and bubbly. — 6 years ago
Green bell pepper nose. Peppery blueberry spice mouth. Nice body.
After naturally aerating, TAR demoinates the nose, followed by tastes of green pepper, raspberry and leather. Incredible the changes that this wine undergoes with just a bit of exposure.
Pair with mole sauce and Spanish inspired cuisine, but nothing overly spicy on the heat scale. — 7 years ago
One of my all-time favorite wines. Insane value for $20...2012 is drinking amazing. Still lots of candied cherries but the fruit is so closely integrated with the tobacco, oak, tannins, acid. Holding on to the rest but plan to check in once a year- what an amazing wine. — 7 years ago
V11. Beatiful wine. Dr. Pepper and soft smoke nose. Black cherry fruit. Dry, tart, mocha and slate finish. Very well balanced. Excellent food wine, but I wouldn't . — 7 years ago
Good drinking wine restaurant. Berries as per red wine some strawberry. Easy drinking — 8 years ago
This appears to be a Zinfandel dominant red blend, a miracle of oenological alchemy. It has Zin-like jamminess and Syrah-like pepper. It is on the big end of medium bodied and has nice thick tannic structure. — 9 years ago
