Classy new world style. No mistaking this for burgundy, but it isn't a buttered oak bomb. That said, there is a hefty dose of high toned oak here that is a bit much for my taste. Has vibrant fruit with good acid support. — 8 years ago

Enjoyed this chilled. Unfiltered and cloudy in the glass. It kinda makes me think of Asian fruits or smoothies and durian but in a good way. Nice acidity and a lime juice-like citrus character. 2014 - Wonderfully perfumed nose of wild bramble fruit, pure blackcurrant, rhubarb crumble, plum and stoney soil, picking up some wood spice with a bit of air. Less expressive on the palate, honest, sturdy with a zesty red and blue fruit acidity, firm tannin that backs up the black cherry skin and tart black fruited finish. You can taste the light sweetness in the end and a mid lasting after taste of sour sweet berries again. Thin beautiful texture - not heavy on the palate. Not very dry as well.
