Delicious • savory • complex - nice ender and enjoyable post-dinner wine with friends — 4 years ago
NV Sunday bubbly from 84% chardonnay 12% Pinot Nero 4% Pino Bianco. Smell with fresh grapefruit, almonds, citrus impression, light brioche. Very pure taste with great Granny Smith apple acidity. Very good effort, this Franciacorta! 30 months sur lattes. — 5 years ago
Red fruits with noticeable stalks from whole bunch fermentation - great balance and medium bodied with fluid juicy textures - last of 3. This is showing better than the previous 2 bottles. I sometimes get overly influenced by HHs reviews He gave this only 84 points and it is 10 points better than that. — 5 years ago

From a 5 Bordeaux grape blend: 78.9% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot, 3.5% Cabernet Franc, 2.3% Petit Verdot & 0.3% Malbec, aged 24 months French oak, 84% new, Deep Ruby with aromas of ripe dark fruits, cedar and floral spice. On the palate flavors of blackberry, ripe cherry and currants with notes of mushroom, herbs, pepper spice and earthy notes. Fine big sweet tannins, long finish ending with cacao, smoky oak, fruit and mineral tang. Very nice, aging well, but time will reward! — 4 years ago

Disgorged 2018 after 84 months on the lees.
This is Egly-Ouriet’s late disgorged offering, and it’s another scintillating champagne that seals my opinion that they are my favorite producer across all offerings. The texture, complexity and character of these champagnes check off every box for me. I’m always chasing Jacques Selosse, and while that’s a goal that will never be achieved (because Selosse champagnes have no equal), this is the closest I’ve come to in regards to style and complexity. Surprisingly, this only has one extra year on the lees compared to their Les Crayeres offering (my favorite), and it’s much more vinous. The aromatics here are ripe, rich and slightly oxidized golden delicious apple, pear, honeyed apricot, orange blossom, and almond croissant. Very fine mousse, to where this almost goes more old white burgundy in style, but still retaining sharp acidity. The palate shows so many floral (honeysuckle) notes alongside more pear and apricot, with a kiss of red fruits and chamomile. Extremely lengthy finish that trends toward caramel but continues to a more tart side instead of sweet. I need to get my hands on an older bottle. — 5 years ago

Super Grenache blend from Ch Neuf D P — 8 years ago
Preis: CHF 84.- — 4 years ago
from my original Costco stash, probably the best bottle yet, $84, I think was the price. Mousse evident when poured, in the glass there are few bubbles, but the prickly palate sensation is evident. Very much orange peel and biscuits, a little toast, almonds on the finish, it’s a really lovely bottle. — 4 years ago

👁 This wine is deep ruby. It has slow-moving tears.

This wine is outstanding and may be consumed now but has potential for aging and further aging!
Chateau Pavie Macquin, Saint-Emilion Grand Cru, Premier Grand Cru Classé. Vintage 2012. ABV 14.5%. 84% Merlot, 14% Cabernet Franc, 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. — 5 years ago

Hmm.. I'm torn. Don't get me wrong - I like it, it's just not what I remembered. This year's rendition of Mark Herold's Flux is 84% Grenache with a dash of Syrah and Mourvèdre. The nose is great with high toned fresh raspberries and crushed rose, baking spice and olive brine. The palate is really bright with loads of high-toned fruit, very pretty acid, and medium body weight. It's a vibrant and playful wine to be sure, with a beguiling nose.. it's just not the serious wine that I've enjoyed in the past couple of vintages. — 8 years ago
@Bill Bender - not an'84 but something I thought would pair well with the first half of an 11-course tasting menu. So far through course 6, Home Run. A hint of sweet, a ton of savory, minerality and lemon. Great pairing. — 8 years ago
