History begins in 1885, when Osea Perrone, a doctor in San Francisco's Italian community, bought 180 acres near the top of Monte Bello Ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This is 100% Zin! Deep red almost purple. Aromas of cherry fruit and unmistakable Zin spice! In the palate, blackberry and cherry flavors with peppery herb spice integrated with dusty tannins. Lively acidity shows up in the medium finish ending with a big fruit finish. Nice! — 8 years ago

Not your typical Hunter. More elegant than rustic. — 10 years ago

Gotta mix it up every now and then. Variety is the spice of life. — 12 years ago
You can definitely smell the Riesling's influence at 35% and the Pinot blanc at 33% seems to do the job of sliming it out and giving it some vibrancy - then the Pinot gris and gerwurztraminer give it a bit of elegance. Interesting and delicious white. — 12 years ago
Best red I've had in a while. Heavy body, plum, a little spice. Really really like. — 13 years ago
Another amazing red from Kiepersol. Nice fruit forward, medium tannins. The flavor lingers for an awesome amount of time. — 8 years ago
Really young, citrus, Creme brûlée with a bit of butterscotch. We paired with cheese and it was pretty special. — 8 years ago
Anderson’s Conn Valley Vineyards 2013 Right Bank cab franc 67% and merlot 33%. FANTABULOUS!!!! At 60 dollars it is as high end as it gets for my taste at a budget cost. It is better than any cab franc blend Ive ever had at any price. it has a unique oak and spice to it. No chocolate nor vanilla. Loads of Black licorice and cigar. A wonderful change. Still lots of dark berries on the beginning and very dry on the finish. This will never disappoint. Must decant however for at least 30 min in large decanter. — 8 years ago
Recently purchased by Bill Foley of Foley Family Wines, continuing traditions of Fred Furth who founded Chalk Hill in 1972, which encompasses 280 acres of vineyards. A blend of 84% Sauvignon Blanc, 10% Sauvignon Gris and 6% Sauvignon Musque, the latter 2 adding an interesting dynamic to the wine and distinctive aromas. One of the few SB's to see some oak giving this wine complexity. Peach, herb and earthy tones, well balanced with acidity, smooth yet robust on a lingering finish ending with citrus notes. — 9 years ago

Plum, blackberry, candy apple, fig newtons, and insects on the nose, very soft tannins, nicely balanced heat and acidity. Lingering finish. Nice. — 11 years ago

Magic acidity. 73er 👊 — 12 years ago
The vineyards are 76.8 acres of very old vaso trained Monatrell vines and 28.8 acres of 30 year old Cab Sauvignon. A blend of 70% Cab Sauvignon & 30% old vine Monastrell aged 2 years. Dark red with big berry flavors & complex spice. On the palate rich ripe cherry & blackberry flavors with sweet vanilla spice, well balanced with acidity. Tannins are approachable but the wine is still very young, lingering finish ending with oak notes, bigger than the ‘14. Still needs time, don’t be tempted but if you have a reason to drink something great, open a bottle, but if you wait this will be great! Tasting Sample. — 8 years ago
A nice 2nd label wine from Cos. Rich and nice structure. Approachable. 65% Cab, 33% Merlot. 2% Petit Verdot. — 8 years ago
4th Generation Sonoma Valley site planted from 1890-1914, 85% Zin, 10 Alicante, 3 Petit Syrah, 2 Carignane. 30 acres. Ridge has been making Pagani since 1991. Interesting wine!! Slightly oxidative at open, then showing a creamy malo'y thing, but then the cedar and caramel, black cherry...Incredibly fresh, great acid. Showing age on the nose but the fruit is pure and alive. I would drink these but might stash one for a really long time like 2028 or 2033. — 9 years ago
