Whatever words I would use to describe how amazing the 96 was with our Prime Rib Roast last night would simply fall short & never do it justice.
The evolution that took place in this bottle after 21 years was never conceived by anyone tasting it upon release or young. It has made a epic leap and simply heaven on the palate.
Oh...as a friend of mine was always fond of saying...”The Prime Rib Roast didn’t suck either!”
I wanna do this again real soon. OMG!!!
Still processes me this morning.

Raisins and leather on the nose. Slightly sweet. Taste begins sweet and caramel; very full. Slightly alcohol forward. Dries out late with hints of oak and smoke. As someone else said, it's like the offspring of bourbon and rum. — 6 years ago
21 year old. Location not working...Pacific Beach for a week. Always scary opening a wine this old but turned out surprisingly well. — 8 years ago

2019 edition, Campbeltown used whisky drawn from both Port casks and rum casks - 45% came from Port casks while the remaining 55% was drawn from rum casks. Distillery's note: "Nose: A delightful fruitiness bursts through; watermelon, strawberry laces, brambles and blueberries followed by crushed vanilla pods and glazed cherries. Taste: Chocolate covered oranges and Caramel shortcake! Deliciously full bodied, with tropical fruit squash, gingerbread and dried mango. Finish: A captivating Campbeltown Malt; sea salt, oily and fruity. Lemon sherbet, whipped cream, apple peel and salted pretzels complete this beautiful dram!" — 5 years ago
Light and bright on the palette, hints of apple and a mineral finish, very smooth, creamy bubbles. Crafted with organic grapes, its breaths of things fresh and green......a keeper! — 6 years ago
This stuff was absolutely amazing. Like, a baby SQN, and not near the price. Certified organic, and owned by two Dallas natives!
A blend of 2 great vineyards: Paderewksi (which is used in some of the Saxum wines), and Catapult.

Amazing #vinako !! … Fresh and refreshing mid-weight Rivera del Duero. Gentle tannins. Expected low acidity and flavors of ripe strawberry fruit, herbs, leather, licorice, cocoa and tobacco but with complexity and a mineral smooth beautiful finish that one don’t expect in such a young wine… In my modest and humble opinion one of the BEST wine producers on the planet…. I am just looking at the bottle in disbelieve and thankfully thinking about however made this nectar of the Gods possible… Every HITO is exactly that : en event , a celebration, an accomplishment … What can I say … Thank you !! And keep it cming for years to come… — 4 years ago
Really like this -not too overwhelming. A little spicy. — 6 years ago
Rich amber color. Luscious red fruits, licorice, honey, and cardamom in the nose. Deeper flavors on the palate, with very rich mouthfeel and hints of light smoke. Luxurious finish. Nice to be tasting some Japanese whisky again after a dry spell in California! — 7 years ago
Amazing aroma. Peppery. Balanced and smooth. Subtle berries. — 7 years ago

Extremely fine mousse, possibly the finest I’ve ever seen. Aromas of lemon, lime and honey. Amazingly fresh and vibrant for a 21 year old wine. On the palate medium plus intensity. Notes of over ripe mouldy apple. Jancis gave this 20/20 which is Off the Charts for her. She said that they started to measure glycerol levels from 2001, and 2002 has been the highest glycerol Dom P ‘by a mile’. An interesting comment. Were they only comparing to 2001? The following day the Lime and Honey dominated still. It would be interesting to taste this next to the 2002 P2. The latter probably fresher still and more mineral. — 2 years ago
