Marchesi Antinori ‘Villa Antinori’ Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG 2013: Medium-bodied. Great balance. Excellent acidity & nice ripe tannins. The nose was very aromatic & inviting and the taste was red fruit focused: Strawberry & dark cherry with other notes of blueberry, tobacco, earth & oak. The finish was long & dry. For me, this Chianti Classico Riserva was hitting its prime; drinking perfectly & shining fresh & bright with each sip. Couldn’t get any better than enjoying with friends against this pretend Tuscan sunset. All in all, a great quality Chianti that stands out amongst the crowded Chianti offerings. Great week to all! We had the 2013 Vintage on 2/28-3/1/21. Red fruit, rose petals and leather on the bouquet. Black cherry, black raspberry and some oak on the palate. An Old World wine, medium bodied with smoothed out tannins. This went great with pizza and chicken parm.
