A delicious Cabernet Sauvignon blend from Paso Robles.

Showing black fruits with tobacco, cedar, leather, vanilla, licorice, spices, chocolates, smoke, mocha, coke and light earth.

Full bodied and smooth with medium acidity and long legs.

Dry and very fruity on the palate with nice complexity. Love these Bordeaux blends.

Easy drinking right out of the bottle, and better with airtime.

A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Cabernet Franc and 7% Merlot. Unfiltered.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.

$80.

I love this blend and the 2016 didn’t disappoint. Structure, layers of fruit, power. Very nice right out of the bottle. Winner of the PAG Summer Tasting ‘19.

We had the 2016 Vintage on 4/11-12/21. Medium purple in color. Black fruit and a floral bouquet. Black cherry, plum, current, oak and vanilla on the palate. Full bodied, very fruit forward, smoothed out tannins. A good representative of Paso Robles. One of the better wines from there. Would buy more.

Impenetrably dark purple with medium blue undertones. Opens up to the pungent smell of muted blueberries, old cigarettes, and cheap candy. Oak, oak, and more oak fills your nose until that’s the only thing that exists. Nuance? What’s nuance. None to be found here. In every aspect, this wine feels focus grouped to death. Not made to represent the terroir of any particular locale, just assembled into a nondescript, seemingly pleasing package. Thick and syrupy, it’s unfair to other, brighter, wines to call this full bodied. The lack of any meaningful acidity really drives this point home. 14.5 on the label but I would have guessed higher. Dollar store fruit candy and clove cigarettes start to dominate the palate, but that oak creeps back in in no time. A lot of people like this wine, plenty love it. To me, it’s just the logical conclusion of creating a wine like substance specifically to appeal to everyone at the grocery store.

Wow. To quote @Steve Haro’s favorite soap opera - this is bold and beautiful. Weighty, palate-coating. Long finish. Full of black cherry, currant, and baking spice. A powerhouse with finesse.

I think Paso Robles wines, especially Justin Isosceles, are really good. One of my favorites. Is it priced a little high these days? Yes, I think so, therefore I don’t drink it as often. But very good.
