The extra wine in the vertical tasting.... unexpectidly alive. Whiffs of cherries are still there, toast, hazelnut, coffee and chocolate truffels. a bit drying from the aged acids. nutty bitters.

1978 vintage as surprise act at the vertical tasting. Grand old lady with still a lot of Joy. Coffee, Bread crust, broth, hazelnuts, almond and in the mouth the fruit lacks somewhat and umami takes over.

1978 - quite ripe and dense with great perfume and sweetness - drinking very nicely with a long life still ahead - decanted 2+ hours before serving
