Aug 18th, 2023This puts a smile on the face. A perfect bottle- rich plum fruit with a punch of wild strawberry in the midpalate, garrigue, a tiny hint of licorice. The palate is lush with glycerin feel. Soft, composed and balanced. Intense and long. A real wow bottle.

The extra wine in the vertical tasting.... unexpectidly alive. Whiffs of cherries are still there, toast, hazelnut, coffee and chocolate truffels. a bit drying from the aged acids. nutty bitters.

1978 vintage as surprise act at the vertical tasting. Grand old lady with still a lot of Joy. Coffee, Bread crust, broth, hazelnuts, almond and in the mouth the fruit lacks somewhat and umami takes over.
