Still youthful and structured, but with air it’s opening nicely. Graphite, cedar, cassis, bramble. Rich and tannic, bit with a long finish. No rush.

Very ripe and great potential. Could use some extra aging.

I am slowly becoming a fan of Château Montrose, their 2nd bottling the La Dame de Montrose has been nothing but exceptional. Tonight I have the pleasure of opening the 2010 La Dame de Montrose. A blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon and 36% Merlot.

The nose is beautifully complex with dark fruit, black cherry, blackberry, big black currant, herbaceousness, anise, violets and a nice subtle earthiness.

The palate reveals abundant black cherries, blackberry, an ever present green bell pepper which I love, a herbaceousness, violets, mocha, a nice minerality and earthiness.

The wine has a luxurious full bodied mouthfeel that is smooth and supple with a medium + acidity and medium + fine yet firm tannins that lead to a wonderful lengthy finish.

The weekend is here with much to do and much to enjoy. Have a great weekend and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷

Had this beauty at a recent wine tasting. A blend of 53% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot, 9% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petite Verdot. Dark red with complex aromas of ripe fruits, currants and floral scents. On the palate black cherry and raspberry flavors with cacao, tobacco and fine pepper spice. Smooth soft tannins, still a bit tight, on a long lingering finish, great balance and mouthfeel, a little creamy texture and still has plenty of room to improve over the next 5 to 10 years.

Lots of bright cherries and red fruit, dried leaves and olives, with grainy tannins and good acidity.

Lots of savory spice with earthy notes of mushrooms and forest floor. Very light on tannin but bright acidity brings vibrancy.

Great but needs more time in bottle to mellow

Lovely even at first taste: dark purple lightening at the edges slightly. This wine I could nose all day: currant, plum, pencil lead, some red fruit, baking spice but just slightly. On palate: well integrated but somewhat dry tannins with an earthy character… graphite, black tea, dark fruit, clove, cigar box, and a hint of tart cherry. Brooding character but not in a plodding or boring manner: finish is medium-long length and robust! This will evolve over hours and I am up for the journey! Merry Christmas!
