Pinot on steroids. But not over extracted and it all works.

Winemaker Joseph J. Wagner is a 4th generation winemaker with winemaking roots in the Napa Valley since 1906. Met Joe several times. Deep Ruby with red berry fruit aromas, tar and sweet spice notes. The palate shows ripe raspberry and jammy cherry with sweet vanilla oak, cacao and pepper spice notes. Soft tannins and bright acidity, well balanced, with mineral tones on a long finish ending with toasty spice! Nice!

Unusually dark in color, but still hits all the classic notes of CA Pinot.

Here’s one that’s become fruitier and sweeter over years. A monodimensional fruity, sugary mess. Overpriced. 14.7% ABV

Dammit... lost your wallet .... late for happy hour ... I picked the wine... this was inky but good.
Gotta get another plan for Rude.

Hints of fruit, full bodied Pinot. Very drinkable.

Drank this back to back with the Dairyman vineyard pinot noir from the same winery. I needed practice at opening the wax seal since the prior one was a disaster and almost broke my corkscrew. I found an old serrated steak knife to saw off the wax top. Wax seal looks amazing but its a pain to remove. Overall I didn’t like this as much as the Dairyman, it was less complex. Same purple-red color, nose of dark fruit, tastes of stewed plum or prunes and blueberry with a slight pepper acidic finish.
