Such a pleasure to find a decent Swiss wine love love #chasselas reminds me of my time in Basel and feldberg — 6 years ago
Chasselas at its best, #Gonon knocked it out of the park with this waxy and slightly oily textured gem. White flowers, macadamia nuts, bright and sweet lemon, a touch of honey and a firm minerally spine. If you have not had #Chasselas I can't recommend this one more. Best of the 3 bottles tasted in the last year. — 6 years ago

I managed to shock an entire panel of very classical sommeliers with this Chilean oddity. A exuberantly aromatic, super cloudy, unfiltered, slightly fizzy blend of Muscat de Alexandria, Torontel and "Corinto" (local name for Chasselas). Like it or not winemaker Manuel Moraga (from a veritable wine dynasty) is delivering the traditional/real/old style Chileans. This is the type of wine that my grandfather, renowned local drunk, had with friends and family, particularly during our national holidays in September when the country goes into a drunken stupor. Forget Carmenères, Almavivas and Chadwicks I'm sorry. If you really want to go local while in Chile you got to try Itata, Yumbel, Guarilihue. That's where you'll find our true soul. BTW I got this one in NYC while shopping around Union Sq, how's that for contradiction!

Quite possibly the most elegant wine I have ever tasted. Lithe aromas of pear, white grape, and white flowers. The palate adds some sweet lemon and a sparkle of minerality. #chasselas #trynewgrapes #savoie — 7 years ago
Pure #Chasselas joy from this classic from #Switzerland. Mineral, light and fresh, and a perfect accompaniment to fondue or raclette. — 5 years ago

2015. Always one of my favorite Alsace wines. Like a lot of wines of this hot, dry, problematic vintage, it’s not built for the long run, but it’s fat, rich and full of spiced pear and vanilla aromas and flavors. Bring on the choucroute! #schoffit #chasselas #alsace — 4 years ago
