Amazing density that lifts the sensory palate. Must try. Didnt seem like a port but a lighter amarone — 5 years ago
Took a while to get into it, but it was a lot better than the first sip forecast. My bottle started out low on complexity, but I guess it delivered on bring a nice representative Pinot from carneros ... Earthy with rose up front and a finish that my wife insists is carraway seed. — 6 years ago
Austere wine for a ZD, and advanced for a 2010. Nose heavy with petrol, orange peel. Crushed minerals, preserved lemon, iodine and sea spray. Much more mineral than fruit palate is medium + body, taught bracing acidity. Lemony with mineralogy and diesel trumping fruit. Fantastic, but not for everyone. $28 — 8 years ago
Not as dark & opulent as the 97 ZD Reserve. But still another very good properly stored bottle. Cork looks great for the age. A little brickish at the edges . Give it 30-45 minutes to blow off the age. Can’t put it down now, this is a 1 person bottle. Had to give it an extra couple points Parker 88 back in the day. So much better now — 4 years ago
2013 paired great with a rib eye or Butternut squash ravioli — 7 years ago
Great, very limited release, Napa valley Sangiovese. Needs plenty of time to open up, and it's worth the wait. Dark Ruby color, light to medium bodied, with nice red fruit and firm, yet silk and well integrated tannins, on the finish. — 8 years ago
Light and doesn't sit on the tongue too long. Summer sipper — 8 years ago
Great cork for 19 years,
I think the 27% Merlot brings the score down for me. 2002 Jones & 97 ZD reserve are a step above at half the price,
One of the flagship wines of the late Jess Jackson’s Artisans and Estates limited production offerings is the 2001 Cardinale, a blend of 73% Cabernet Sauvignon and 27% Merlot from some of the finest Jackson-owned vineyards on Mt. Veeder, Keyes on Howell Mountain, Alexander Mountain Estate as well as purchased fruit from the Stagecoach, To-Kalon and Peter Michael vineyards. — 3 years ago
Yountville grapes. Only sold at winery, and sold out as of 10/1/17. Medium tannins and medium-full body for a merlot. Dark chocolate, cherry, oak, plum notes. 3 bottles left. — 7 years ago
Incredible. Many layers of taste. Must have and must try. Abacus XVIII — 7 years ago
#knifepointer great nose on this one - hints of rose petal, cassis, and mocha espresso. While spiced French oak overwhelms the tongue! Enjoyed this more than the ZD. — 8 years ago

Prime time now. Give it an hour to breathe and it sings. Excellent example of big modern Napa. — 3 years ago
