I’ve had the hardest time remembering my new zip code even despite having written it a thousand times in the last few weeks... maybe I’m still dreaming... anyway...
It was still 90° at 7:30 so I went in search of Sauvignon Blanc. Sunshine Foods is the local grocery and has exactly the surprisingly very good selection that should be expected from a specialty local grocer in the heart of Napa Valley. I’m not going to lie, I bought this wine so that I would finally learn my zip code (even if I did let somebody ahead of me at checkout so I could finish researching it).
The winemaker is Sam Baxter of Terra Valentine and it’s sourced from the San Mateo Ranch Vineyard in Rutherford. At $19 that was good enough for me. Loaded with ripe pear and fresh, almost underripe melon, lime zest, and stony minerality, with just a tinge of honeysuckle that softens the corners. The acid is relatively toned down but still present enough to satisfy most purists. — 7 years ago
Night seven on the Allure of the Seas and this time at we are ordering in for some room service from the specialty restaurants.
This is a big wine and needed the lengthy decant, we decanted for around four hours. Dark ruby red with garnet edges. Dark and thick nose with spices, smooth dark fruits, plums, cinnamon and purple flowers. Heavy sweet tannins (7.5/10) and full bodied. Powerful and intense on the palate with layers of cherry liquor, dark berries, anise, woody, dark cocoa and dark cherries. Long and lingering finish. Long life left ahead of this baby. Drink till 2032. — 8 years ago

Our first wine in the Langtons Outstanding category at the September 2018 tasting. Sparkling Shiraz is an Australian specialty and this is one of the best examples. — 7 years ago
Wow, this was truly awesome. My son purchased it in Milan in a specialty store. Cost around 40 euros but worth way more. — 8 years ago
Delicious with filet minion. Says sold out but I've found it in local specialty liquor stores. — 8 years ago
To taste this wine I believe you need to understand the mentality and passion of the producer. Tasted in a flight of great champagne this wind appeared older than it was distinct salty, nutty, dried flower, ample richness and freshness from the youthful part of the cuvée; depth and mystery from the older part of the Solera/blend. This is a phenomenal champagne but it is for the select few that have studied the brand and wish to try and oxidize style - which is only a complement to the wine in this particular version a little less pervasive then and other cuvées from this brand. Sensational at Gwen With our diverse set of appetizers....and yes I love this one with charcuterie - a specialty At Gwen (salty aged ham? Hell yes). Fall in love with the oxidative nose invest in the wine for its unique and undeniable quality — 8 years ago

Armenian wine has gained more global popularity since a team of archaeologists discovered the earliest evidence of complete wine production inside an Armenian cave. You probably still won’t find them in most restaurants but you can now get high quality contemporary Armenian wine in specialty shops or online. Karasi by Zorah is pretty unique because it was aged in a Karas instead of a traditional barrel. Nose is similar to Pinot Noir from hotter climate with cherry and peppery notes. Medium bodied with delicate tannins and acidity. Very elegant yet interesting wine. — 7 years ago

Vintage 2010 / dark colour, deep and complex smell with a lot of spices, raspberry, which I love from the first day I sipped a Bourgueil. Velvety taste. / Paired with Dutch Cheese with clove, a specialty from Friesland. — 5 years ago
