Beautiful floral notes - red roses hits you at first. Dried tart cherry, red currant, wild strawberry, fennel, mushroom. Touch of sandalwood once it opens up. Really nice — 6 years ago

Very good concentration. Lots of tobacco, graphite, black olive, coriander, ripe cherry, black tea. Med+ body, well-balanced, good structure. Ripe tannins. — 9 years ago
2011 - What a lovely Passito coming from Etna region, where you can't find so easily such a sweet (well, moderately sweet) dessert wine made with Nerello Mascalese grapes. Gorgeous. #etnakalatour — 10 years ago
Excellent dessert pairing! Not overly sweet but strong honey notes. — 11 years ago
Black rye crisp, sesame, dried rose petal, dried, deep lavender, subtle aspects of cinnamon, Connecticut leaf tobacco, and a loamy till after a burn. These are the undulating aromas. Velvet and seductive tannins perfectly integrate into the medium silk mouthfeel. Tar and tobacco, black plum, graphite, black olive, espresso, cinnamon and roses. #barbaresco #nebbiololover #nebbiolo #piemonte #piedmont #Traversa #TraversaGiuseppe #nebbiololover #queenbarb — 7 years ago

When I first moved to NY, I worked with a guy who was, well, maybe connected. Like Tony Soprano connected. And he went to I Trulli a LOT. And so I was inspired to try it and it. was. good. Back for only my 2nd time, the all-Italian wine list is certainly intimidating, but I know the Nebbiolo grape, as finicky as it may be, is one people respect, and nurture, and cultivate into something gorgeous. This Barolo is awesomely-paired with my arugula and fresh parm salad - star anise (maybe a theme here?!), cherry, blackberry to the nose. I respect a good Barolo in that this grape requires optimal conditions to flourish, and altho it's such a small part of the Piedmont output, it's often the most coveted. I Trulli love you. 😉 Now bring on the pasta! #bepicky #barolo — 9 years ago

Very nice. Drank with William and Kirst at J’s house. I hadn’t wanted to drink that night, but it was compelling. — 6 years ago
