I tend to love the weird wines made from masters. Think Paolo Bea Arboreous or Joly Coulee de Serrant or LDH Rose.

Everything about this is artificially flavored candy. It looks like cherry lollipop and smells like red Kool-Aid and Robitusson. Tastes like watermelon Jolly Rancher.

Powerful and viscous as hell, even hot. I know these can age forever and I’d love to see an older bottle. Tons of fun. — 6 years ago

Started off with a very strong nose of apple cider and not much taste. After an hour and change, had a lovely nose of baked apple and spices, and tasted sweeter. Reminded me of a Joly Savennieres — 6 years ago

Среднее тело с доминантной спелых желтых фруктов во вкусе, высокая, держащая в напряжении, кислотность, сверхтонкий сливочный шлейф, углубляющий строгую минеральную структуру. Вертикально и глубоко, с достаточным объемом и непринужденной свежестью. Долгое послевкусие с тонами цитрусовой цедры и легкого сливочного крема. Совершенно слаженно, грациозно и многогранно. 18,5+/20

(Пробуя это вино вслепую, было два варианта, которые казались максимально близкими энергетически − Nicolas Joly и Mark Angeli. Зная этих мастеров, было понятно, что скорее всего это не они, но уровень не давал спуститься ниже. Stéphane Bernaudeau действительно отработал у Марка 15 лет перед тем как начал выпускать вина под своим именем. Wednesday Wine Committee. Great hosting by Gavin. 1 sparkler, 4 whites, 4 reds and 2 dessert wines. All served blind as usual.

Classic and down the middle. Almost Viognier like with the floral aromatics and lack of acidity. Cinnamon, baking spices, lemon bar, and sea shell notes on the palate. Bordering on steely. — 6 years ago

A living Riesling of a storied house of age old Biodynamic principles, Nikolaihof is to the Wachau of Österreich what Nicolas Joly is to Savennières of France, pure, mercurial in its textures and tension and protean in its white blossom, fresh apricots and dry honeycomb. 2008 marks another marvelous vintage.
