Blend of Arinto, Galego Dourado e Ratinho from vineyards in the old estate of the Marquis de Pombal. Aged in oak for an average of 15 years. NV. Eugenio is right--this is halfway between moscatel and Madeira on the palate. 17.5 but a light fresh attack with nuts and honey. Yum! — 9 years ago

I do not usually drink fortified wine, but this Carcavelos was exceptional. It tastes like a sweet Madeira but has an extra fruitiness that I appreciated. A great buy if you are looking for a different sweet wine. — 3 years ago
