Light and dry. Very good! Date of wine Sept 10 2016. — 8 years ago
A Special bottle remembering a loved one...label hand with finger pointing upward to a heavenly star...fitting! 1991 Vintage is subdued, yet has held up well...flavors of tobacco, leather and dried plum and raisin. Yummy! — 8 years ago
Old school. Has some of that over extracted warmth but nothing compared to the Napa Valley juice from the same year. Nice leather tones. Good stuff. Will only get better with age. On the upward slope. — 8 years ago

South African Nebbiolo that would make some Italians blush. — 6 years ago
One of the most complex wines I have had. Rich mahogany, cool cellar nose maybe a hint of sweet black fruit. Again, projects this soft texture yet has so many layers on the palate. Madero leaf, toffee and milk chocolate blanket the palate. On the finish I get the return of the black fruits and smoke. Beautiful- — 7 years ago
Obsessed with all Pinot project projects! Noir, Grigio, and rose! All 💯✨🙏🏽! — 8 years ago
13.8% alc.
So it can be done in Napa!
Grateful to have known/worked with Denis on several projects his gifted implementation of various French oak coopers leaves me very impressed.
A toast to a dear friend who left us way to young 🍷🍷.

I know it is the offspring or the want a be cousin of the Schrader clan but I just get worried drinking with the thought of drinking 200 plus often so this Napa Cab will be fine - it is singing to me and not the seasonal favorites but deep bass hymnals in that good way saying "man is this good bud" followed by "amen" and then "c'mon man" and then I wake up realize I was wanting this to be a RBS but what the heck - this is sort of distinctively good and at quarter of the other Schrader cabs I came back to saying "Amen" - almost big, bold enough and thus a good looking wine - deep dark fruit with blackberries, smell is very intoxicating and a little smokey with some heat but good balance so smooth enough and finally finish is lingering long enough to think about the entire package while compelling you to take another taste but with graceful sync - for the money - definitely recommend and hard to get after 2011 so might be a dinosaur soon - this is a good night to smile and of course the double diamond bomber x helps the lips curve upward on the ends as demonstrated in the small picture to follow 😃👍🍷 — 8 years ago
After a decade of bottle age and an hour of aeration, projects iron minerality, organic-matter earthiness and dark blue fruit, within a fine acid-etched silky texture. — 7 years ago

100% Cabernet Franc
Deep, ruby, garnet-tinted purple. Opaque and youthful.
Superb bouquet, unmistakably Loire cab franc. Raspberry, wild strawberry, slightly herbaceous with distinct barnyard funk of cattle range, sheep meadow, and grazing field.
Smooth integration of tannin but still very much present. Med plus acidity, dry. Domineering red fruits with some compote like profile, leafy, minty with some sage and thyme.
Another birthday bottle. A surprise package. Very much smack right in the prime drinking window. Only short decanting necessary. I am also quite convinced that this is still on its upward trajectory. 91+ — 8 years ago
Crescendo of dried berry, cherry, and darker pitted fruit notes. CS and CF come out with a green tobacco and spiced herbal notes. Umami. Leather, meaty, gamey like lamb, and warm spice. Porcini, sandalwood, sarsaparilla. Palate has this upward energy to it, everything has lift and rise across the palate. Considerable acidity that shines through the sleek tannins. A beautiful wine. Day 2: fig and denser fruit on the mid-palate with rich notes of cocoa coming across. Acidity has integrated making the wine more velvety than before. Even better with snow falling outside. — 8 years ago

Took a trip to CA to visit my daughter & taste some great wines I cannot readily get back east. We visited AuBonClimat, and I was introduced to some of Jim Clendenen’s, projects of passion, his CFV 2014 Aligoté. Straw yellow with stone fruit and light floral aromas. The wine was aged for 10 months on older French oak. On the palate, pear and peach flavors with lemony nuances, slightly tart with a mineral elegance. On the medium finish slight oak tones are present ending with liberal minerality. Very nice! — 9 years ago
Already showing secondaries. More fruit on the palate than the nose projects. Light tannins and firm acidity. — 9 years ago

Just a few bottles from an awesome Open That Bottle Night celebration this past weekend.
So young, and that was after this being open an hour or so. Gripping. Currant, blackberry, plum and underripe black cherry. Tannic and powerful on the palate. This is still on an upward trajectory. — 6 years ago
