Funky but opened up quickly. Tons of acidity, straight chuggable wine. This was delish. — 6 years ago
Pomegranate, frozen strawberries, cranberry concentrate, rhubarb, white pepper, raspberry tea. Snapping acidity, light medium bodied, juicy texture, minimal crunchy tannin presence, long fruity slightly smoky finish. Aromatic, alpine freshness persists, as evolved as schiava/vernatsch/trollinger gets. — 8 years ago
This is the Trollinger dominant rose, not to be confused with 'Zsa Zsa' zwiegelt rose.Dry as a bone yet juicy, crisp and refreshing. Spiced strawberry, pomegranate, quince and raspberry yoghurt nose. Clean, crisp and semi-savoury palate. Bang on with honey, soy and ginger Salmon. — 8 years ago

17/20 — 9 years ago
A slightly more modern yet highly authentic interpretation of Vernatsch. Cool & fresh with ripe plums, with some plum jam, a bit of damp earth & undergrowth, some graphite.
Nicely drawn, this is featherlight yet focused & precise, with pure, juicy fruit, good acidity and present tannins - quite light yet with grip. The aging in (large wood) fills the mid palate nicely. This is why I love Vernatsch!
Old vines, 5% Pinot noir, organic. — 5 years ago
Such lightness and freshness, like when you breathe clean mountain air. Yet it has real taste and depth. Radically different from any German red, I really cannot compare it to any other wine in memory. How do they make this? — 7 years ago
This is wine turned out to be a rare find in the US, as it's acreage is waning in it's birthplace, Germany, and even Japan (ca. 250 ha.) plants more Kerner than Italy (ca. 83 ha) does!
A 1920s cross between Trollinger (red grape) and Riesling, this grape, similar to Sylvaner, boasted a racy, fruity and way nutty/earthy/leathery flavor with a showy acidity. I was quite pleased with this find here on the West Coast and enjoyed every sip of it. — 8 years ago

Tailgate wine. Love it. Fresh! — 9 years ago
Juicy and yummmmm. At first tastes like popcorn but quickly moved into one of those old fashioned strawberry hard candies with the beautiful packaging. Delicious and pretty and does not drink like 13% on a school night. — 5 years ago
Delicious!!! Super fresh expression of a natural Trollinger. Light bodied. Bright acidity. Young red fruit. Bitter herbs and mineral finish. — 6 years ago
One of the best Riesling’s I’ve had — 6 years ago
1 July 2017. Chez Ma Tante, Brooklyn, NY. — 8 years ago
A cross between Riesling and Trollinger (Schiava in Italy), the wine has a pink tinge to its golden lemon. It smells of peaches with a hint of ginger and thyme. (A previous commenter called it Peaches and Herb!). Retains some of the Riesling acidity, but this has a lush quality. In fact, it reminds me of a Virginia Viognier in the mouthfeel. I'd really enjoy this in the late Spring and Summer. — 8 years ago
Well had the 2013 at Officine Brera in LA based on a recommendation from Francine the Som. And????😳😳😳. How is the 2014? Peach nose. Floral, perfumed, tart just lovely a real find. The winery is at 1800 feet in the alps. The grape is a cross between Trollinger a red grape and Riesling. Very Muscat like with undertones of Rose Meyer lime zest and green apple. Fresh and balanced with decent acidity. I will start buying this just got a six pack 🤗. — 9 years ago
Adriana Fabbro
River stones & stone fruit. Apricot, peach blossom, acacia, green apple and pear with hints of petrol (as you’d hope for in a crossing of Riesling with Schiava/Trollinger?!?!). Ripe and fuller bodied/viscous, but holds its high acidity well. — 3 years ago
