Quite dense crimson in colour. Very spicy nose with meaty notes. Silky graphite like tannins. More savoury spicy than fruity on the medium weight palate. Great conditions in the Yarra Valley in 2015. The winner of the Trevor Mast Trophy for Best Shiraz and also Trophy for best single vineyard wine at the Royal Melbourne Wine Awards in 2016. Amazing QPR at only $30. Will go on for 5+ years at least with the structure it has. Have 2 bottles left. — 5 years ago
My last bottle of this superb Syrah. Winner of the Trevor Mast Trophy for best Shiraz in the 2015 Royal Melbourne Wine Show. Very Northern Rhone like. Rich and savoury, spicy, slightly meaty. Full bodied. Dark Chocolate with hints of bacon fat. At its peak at 11 years old. I see Antonio Galloni gave it 93 points with a drinking window through to 2027. What can’t the Yarra Valley do? Known for its excellent Pinot Noir and Chardonnay but also its fabulous Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Go elsewhere for Riesling. — 4 months ago

Sweet and bubbly and tastes like strawberries. — 5 years ago
Andy hooked us up on this new find. Only a few cases produced so you know the love is in the bottle. Date night with the wifey and this smooth and velvety on the intro with big Napa notes is a winner. — 7 months ago
I would invite you to find a bottle like this older & well stored 03, “The Sisters. “I would enjoy tasting this blind w/ Napa Cult wines & lovers. Then, watch their eyes open wide when I pulled off the brown bag. Many would call Colgin, Scarecrow, Harlan, Bond & the like etc.. I recently paid $50 for this 2003 at auction. That includes tax & auction fees. For vintage, they would call 10, 13 or 14. This is still youthful. Beautiful M+ somewhat rounded tannins, fruit buffet w/ dark pronounced spice. This has ten years plus left.
The palate is round, plush, phat fruits of; blackberries, black raspberries, plum, dark cherries, strawberries, purple fruits with blueberries. Dark, well pronounced spice, soft baking spices, sweet graphite, soft, fresh, tobacco notes, used leather warm, gray clay, river-stone, mocha, caramel notes, dry crushed rock, limestone marl, some dry top soil, dark, purple red fresh & withering florals, excellent, round acidity and a well made, balanced, beautifully structured and elegant finish that lasts minutes falling on elegant earth & spice.
TRB made wine. Stunning!!!! — 7 months ago
Mint and pear on the nose. Upfront there’s a really interesting impression of cotton candy or bubblegum. Then I get a mild apple cider vinegar and tart pear note. Finishes with a strong lemon oil linger. Aged pretty nicely, only a hint of ferment that I actually kind of linked! — 4 years ago
This is officially the Bass Phillip Estate Chardonnay but that choice not offered by Delectable. The wine is pale gold in colour. Aromas of leesy solids, cashews and toasty notes. On the palate sweetish, mandarin flesh and white nectarines. Quite developed on the palate with minimal acid and Medium + Intensity. A mouthful of flavour - quite delicious in the richer spectrum. If Phillip Jones makes great Pinot Noir he should be able to make great Chardonnay, and he does. — 5 years ago

I am re-coravining this 07. The 2007 vintage is generally compared to 97. I would say 07 is slightly better than 97.
I am honest, sometimes to a fault. This is absolutely the most underrated Cabernet producer in Napa Valley, bar none. A TRB made wine since 97.
The nose reveals ripe & lush; dark currants, blackberries, black raspberries, black plum skin, dark cherries, just a whiff of boysenberries with strawberries & creamy raspberries on the edges of the glass. Melted dark chocolate to frosting, plum pudding, mocha powder, salted caramel notes, cinnamon, clove, some nutmeg & vanillin, touch of butterscotch, understated herb blend, some grey clay, dry top soil, light graphite, very used leather, light fresh tobacco, undertones of anise to black licorice, withering-candied; dark, red flowers-roses with candied violets.
The palate is heavily magical. The tannins round, velvety & still meaty. Ruby & lush nicely evolved fruits that are; dark currants, blackberries, black raspberries, black plum skin, dark cherries hints of boysenberries, cherries, strawberries, pomegranate extract & hovering, creamy raspberries. Melted dark chocolate to frosting, plum pudding, mocha powder, salted caramel notes, tarriness, dark roasted expresso, anise to black licorice, cinnamon stick, clove, some nutmeg & vanillin, dark spice w/ some palate heat, touch of toffee w/ nuts, understated fresh herb blend, lightly grilled meats, some grey clay/volcanics, dark, rich, sweet earth, dry top soil, nice graphite tones, very used leather, fresh tobacco, undertones of anise to black licorice, withering-candied; dark, red flowers-roses with candied violets, excellent round acidity with an incredibly; balanced, well knitted, structured, tensioned, elegant finish that glides from beautiful fruits to spice & gentle earth and last nearly two-minutes. Glorious & stunning the character & depth of this wine!
Jones Family wines only shine this bright with 15 years plus in bottle.
