Very interesting wine, as dry as Austrian but with a faint whiff of Tokay. — 7 years ago
Found this rogue bottle in storage. Unctuous and savoury. — 9 years ago
Wonderful Tokay. Not too sweet but sweet enough. Its acidity is very important in mouth.
Good to match with deserts and cheese. — 9 years ago
Given to me by a dear friend. Outstanding bouquet and flavor....
This one is over 30 years old... — 7 years ago
Another winner from Slavček. The Tokaj is really pure with a real skin of the grape leatheriness; the Chardonnay lends it a prettiness and floral aspect. — 7 years ago
Deeply golden color, honey and orange blossom on the tongue, a bit of residual sugar, but not too sweet. Note to self - would be awesome with cheese. — 8 years ago
Louis sipp oro potente, en nariz complejo tabaco de pipa, vainilla, compota de manzana dulce... Gran nariz. En boca quizás se queda un poco plano en el final, gran entrada y paso. — 8 years ago

2005 Selection de Grains Nobles from Zind-Humbrecht from the famed Rotenberg Grand Cru. Medium Amber. Marmalade, peach syrup and apricot jam. Nutmeg and caramelised oranges. On the palate, super ripe and lusciously sweet syrup with great acidity and full bodied. Great mid palate allows the acidity to calm the syrup notes. Long long finish. Huge concentration. Apricot dominant. Caramel and hot cream. Carnation milk. Viscous. Wow. Something special. NB: surprised this isn't labelled Quintessence de Grains Nobles given the luscious nature of this wine. — 9 years ago
NV. Brown sugar, toasted pecans, maple, poached pear, quince paste, the green notes of over-steeped green tea and honeydew that I typically associate with Australian Tokay, raisins, decayed white flowers, overripe fruit. The acid and the green notes save this wine from being overly tooth-aching. Awesome match for pecan pie or crème brûlée. — 7 years ago
The charms of Alsatian Pinot Gris are underrated, especially in a classic expression like this bottle. Leathery yellow pomaceous and stone fruit match with Munster rind, mushroom powder, dried hay, mace, garam masala and crushed stone. The spicy tang of botrytis is present, but not all-consuming. The crushing bitterness (almond, quinine bark) is foiled by 20-ish grams of RS and a broad, oily texture. While not super flexible at the table, this wine is confident and compelling, tasting great at 14 years. — 9 years ago
Not your everyday tokay. It's tokaj. And beautiful too. — 9 years ago
1988 Alsace with everything you would expect, matured and intricate bruised fruit notes with an intoxicating and lingering Grasp on your mind and palate. — 9 years ago

Fruity, then felt smooth. It makes me calm and have long finish. @1400, A Cut, 171206 — 7 years ago
