Wow. Light and fruity. Glad I got a lot of it’s friends in the basement. — 8 years ago
It is time for my #FridayCabernetfix.
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Full-bodied and elegant with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, blackberries, sweet cherries, spices, cedar, licorice, chocolates, vanilla, aluminum and peppercorn.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy cherries.
This 4 year old from the problematic 2020 vintage is drinking beautifully now. Feels like a Napa Cabernet with an old world twist. Interesting stuff.
This Single Vineyard is fruit forward and rich. Complex and interesting. Nicely balanced with a nice mouthfeel.
Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 to 7 years. Has good potential to become a 94+ point wine.
Easy drinking right out of the bottle, and better after an hour of airtime.
Tasty and good by itself as a sipping wine. Will also pair nicely with BBQ Meats.
A blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Sangiovese and 25% Malbec. Aged in French oak barrels for 22 months. Unfiltered. A small production of only 1,700 bottles.
14.3% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

Great Rose - not too sweet - easy drinking — 5 years ago
Very smooth cab. Dark fruit nose but subtle mouth. Great with steak and risotto. Drank for celebrating student loan pay off and the 1st female Vice President! — 6 years ago
Soft bouquet gives way to a rich glass of complexity. Dark red fruit, tannic rightness, and Smokey barrel notes. Likely good for years to come. — 6 years ago

Peach fruit cup. Very reminiscent of Ultramarine Rose... or vice versa — 8 years ago
Medium lemon color, aromas of stone and citrus fruits with floral and mineral notes. On the palate flavors of apple and pear with citrus wrapped in a smooth nutty spice texture. Medium+ finish, lively acidity, ending with fruit, spice and savory citrus character. Nice value! — 2 years ago
This is delicious. It’s got a peppery feel to it. — 3 years ago
This is unexpectedly nice. Paid $36 and this is well worth it. Young but well integrated already. Nice dark fruits and vanilla flavors. Really glad I bought this — 5 years ago

06’ Melka Metisse. 83% Cabernet 13% Merlot 4% PV
Similar to the vice versa tonight. They’re both polished and approachable wines. I would recommend a short 15 minute decanting. Hell... let it open up in your glass.
Looking at this wine you would’ve never guessed it was 12 years old.
Dark red(crimson)almost to the edge of the glass.
In your face & up front style of this...quite appealing. Black plum, blueberries, licorice. Well integrated oak, with silky tannins. Lingers on the back of the palate for a good 30 seconds. Full- bodied & delicious. Drink this in it’s prime. 2/3 great years in it. — 8 years ago

Photos of; a wide shot of Pepper Bridge, Artifex custom crush facility, Winemaker, Jean-François Pellet and the view from their terrace. Producer notes...born and raised in Switzerland, Winemaker Jean-François Pellet is a third-generation wine grower. He earned degrees in both enology and viticulture. As part of his studies, he interned in Switzerland, Germany and the Napa Valley. After graduating, he managed vineyards and made wine in Switzerland and Spain. After his time in Europe, his experience and reputation brought him to Heitz Cellars in the Napa Valley, where he worked for four years. Pepper Bridge recruited him out of Heitz and he moved to Walla Walla to become that winery's creative force. His success at Pepper Bridge afforded him the opportunity to join the Amavi partnership. Jean-François Pellet is also a partner in Artifex, the areas very successful custom crush facility. Additionally, he is also a founding member and current vice-president of the Walla Walla Valley's sustainable agriculture organization, VINEA. Quite a resume! It was a pleasure meeting him. He is a very kind person and an extremely knowledgeable Winemaker. Thank you for all of your time & knowledge during our visit.
