Yummo! Strawberry Jolly Ranchers, sweet but not cloying. Totally a summertime drink: sunset, patio, grill going. — 8 years ago

With friends in town during Thanksgiving, I hit up some wineries that I’ve been curious about. Super cool experience at Aonair. Grant Long, Jr has created something special there, and with David Yorgensen at the helm with the wines, it feels all dialed in. Their Grenache was a surprise to me. From El Dorado and there’s some initial funk, but it blows off and what’s left is a balanced, mineral driven, but kirsch laden, and yet still, a bright style wine that’s quite reminiscent of something from Chateauneuf du Pape. — 7 years ago

Dark fruit with spice and licorice It's almost Christmas time, kids are all home and rib eyes are in the grill. I feel I'm the luckiest guy around, life is good! — 9 years ago
CAYMUS Caberet Sauvignon Napa Valley. We drank this with Billie and Rob at Capital Grill in Shops of Legacy. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. I would rank it a 10+ — 6 years ago
A delicate, pretty pink; like the colour of crabapple jelly. The primary aroma is floral, orange blossoms with a secondary bouquet of sea minerals as if you were sitting next to the Mediterranean engulfed by a warm sea-breeze. Good acidity that should cut through the oiliness of the barbecued Salmon on the grill. The flavours of rose water, grapefruit and tart strawberries make this an utterly delicious rosé for a hot summer’s day. — 7 years ago

Absolutely: Happy Anniversary to us! We don't have a huge array of 2004s (the year we were married), but this Realm cab was a terrific match with the filet mignon I fired up on the grill. Surprisingly, this took about an hour to really open up - went from a good but medium bodied at best wine to a complex, full-bodied cab with a great combination of blue and black fruits coupled with some great older notes of leather and dried currants. Probably not quite at the level of what Juan and the other folks at Realm are doing now (at least based on the scores - out of my price range now)...but it's pretty damn good! — 8 years ago
