This wine is absolutely gorgeous! Give it a 30 min rest in the glass. Bright ripe fruit nose. Silky mouthfeel, the perfectly ripe black and blue fruit comes forth, followed by intense minerality, soft yet grippy tannins leaving a slightly chalky mouthfeel. So elegant, such finesse. Graphite, black licorice, blueberry pie, baking spices, hint of mocha. Superb medium-long finish. It’s this experience that makes Dr Crane one of my favorite vineyards. Absolutely love this wine and this vineyard! — 4 months ago

So good. Perfect with a Flannery Rib Eye — 14 hours ago
One of the best wines and Cabernets in the tasting. Made by Sam Kaplan. 95-97 with 10 years of proper cellaring.
It is blended from the following sites; Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard, Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard, Vine Hill Ranch Vineyard, Weitz Vineyard, and Oakville Ranch Vineyard. Not inexpensive $300.
The name, Memento Mori, is taken from an ancient Latin philosophy that reminds us of our mortality and the inevitability of death. So, forgo patience, I guess?

Really smooth, spicy berry, long finish. Paired amazingly well with Chelsea’s beef loin. Long finish. Smith’s brought. — 6 months ago
Outstanding! A full-bodied blueberry and cassis bomb that explodes in your mouth. Fabulous bouquet and silky smooth with a long finish. — 2 months ago
Nose: more standard vegetal.
Palate: more plush. Blueberry blackberry spice. Delicious. Elegantly opulent.
Elite plush wine.
Long finish. — 4 months ago
The last time I had this was at The French Laundry trying to convince someone to support a nonprofit I love. The subsequent gift was generous but, somehow, underwhelming. This wine is like that. A great vintage, a great vineyard, in great hands, but it had so much more potential. I’m not whining about a 97-point wine; I’m lucky to enjoy it. But it could’ve been even more. — 8 months ago

This was nice and unique. Dark red color. Still very youthful. Medium plus depth. Dominated by mint with some dark cherries, vanilla, and leather. Wine had layers to it adding to the complexity and uniqueness.
Take this for what it’s worth, and honestly it’s not a bad thing, but I got blue cheese on the nose :) — 6 days ago
