Opus One

Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2007

One of the finest Cabs I’ve had. Pure Cab from a great vintage. Cassis for days. Nothing pointy, but still massively structured. — 6 years ago

Trademark Finest Reserve Porto

Bit darker and less sweet than I was expecting, but I found myself reaching for glass after glass. Heavy and sits on the back roof of my palate. Initial aroma reminded me of wine served at Catholic mass — 8 years ago

Château Rayas

Réservé Châteauneuf-du-Pape Grenache Blend 1994

This is CdP at its mature finest. Tannins are fully resolved yet the fruit is still vibrant though delicate. Don't wait to enjoy. — 10 years ago

Ata Rangi

Martinborough Pinot Noir 2018

At the Downs. Club magnum dinner on Wednesday night. A very rich Pinot Noir and one of New Zealand’s finest. A bit closed - needs a lot of swirling. A medium to full bodied palate. Tannins are a little coarse and grainy but I put that down to its youth. Too young to be drinking this particularly from magnum. Should be great in 10 years time. 99 points from James Suckling. — 4 years ago

Thibaud Boudignon

Anjou Chenin Blanc 2017

Classy 2017 Anjou Blanc by Loire legend Thibaud Boudignon crafted from 100% Chenin grown in grey schist and volcanic soils in Anjou (his centuries old cellar and most of this vineyards are located in Savennières). Fermented in stainless steel with indigenous yeasts and aged in 300 and 750-liter barrels (30% new) for 15-18 months. Green apples, citrus, marked minerality, almost unnoticeable oak. Clean, precise, structured, marked minerality, great depth and length. This is Loire Valley Chenin at its finest — 6 years ago

Château Haut-Brion

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 1959

This 59 reminds me why this vintage might be better than 61 albeit I'm drinking less top 61's because the book tells me to lay away still the very top producers. But 59 in Lafite, Margaux, now HB better than 61. Latour and Mouton spectacular in 59 and maybe 61 will outlive but only time will tell. This was simply myriad of the finest moments one can expect from a rare old bottle at its peak! — 9 years ago

Ca' del Bosco

Cuvée Prestige Franciacorta Brut Chardonnay Blend

Finest mousse. Lightest peach, lemon pith, ripe ginkgo, lime, persimmon, orchid concentrate and tangerine-thyme aromatically. Creamy mousse plays chalky with tangerine and lemon oil across the tongue seductively. Lime zest, lychee, apricot and a pure single drop of ripe lemon juice connects the creamy finish in a lovely way. Really an amazing wine with the complex nuances of a lively tête-à-tête with a stunningly beautiful lady. #CadelBosco #bubbles #franciacorta #Brut #Chardonnay #sparklingwine — 8 years ago

Parker 99 pointer for whatever it's worth,
Blend of their finest vineyards, not sure which ones they are, but thats the description. $112.00 from the winery, for the same 💵💳 I'll take the Becklyn moulds & Scarlett Reserve, but its a good wine to try.

Domaine du Pegau

Cuvée Laurence Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend

2011 Vintge. One of the finest wines I've ever had. Lots of earthy flavors going on, including truffles, leather and tobacco. Even a tiny hint of licorice, but in a good way. Perfect balance of fruit and tannin as well. Just wish I could afford it more often. My special occasion wine. — 10 years ago
