Fantastic Brunello di Montalcino. Not my first rodeo with Frescobaldi, but this one was exceptional. — a month ago
2020 vintage. Decanted and tasted after 15 mins and 2 hours. Medium/medium-heavy body (as usual) first sampling. Meaty (but not beefy) with dark plum as backup/the club bouncer. Slightly chunky but eminently drinkable. Ff two hours and the body thinned out slightly with the club bouncer’s shift over. Dark plum gonzo and cola + Luxardo cherry now driving the party bus. Not quite as structured as the massive 2019 or as precious as the 2018. This is in a great spot now, if you must, and should be an absolute delight in 5-10 years. 3.6.25. — 2 months ago
2/2026. Full flavor and nice finish. Easy drinking. — 3 months ago
Poured into a decanter right before service. The 2020 pours a deep garnet color with a translucent core; medium viscosity, with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of Montmorency cherry, red flowers, black tea, fresh sage, some dried green herbs and dry, dusty earth. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. This is a classic, rustic Chianti Classico without the DOCG designation. Better after 2030 and will drink well through 2045. — 4 months ago
One of the best wines for the price. — 13 years ago
2021 vintage. Medium body. Mostly fruit, fewer herbs in the nose. Total green light now. Some structure but not excessively so. Dunno how long the show will go but fabulous now and without any significant speed bumps/humps. This is an excellent Brunello to showcase the allure for those that have never had the pleasure or "gotten it" with the area. 4.15.26. — a month ago
Blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Canaolo, medium Ruby color with aromas of red fruits, floral and sweet spice. On the palate flavors of sour cherry, currant and raspberry with tobacco, baking spices and nutty notes. Fine rustic tannins, vivid acidity, medium finish ending with fruit and earthy spice. Good now and short-term age as well! — 2 months ago
Best wine of the tasting in Italy! — 2 months ago
Wine was delicious. Not harsh and no after taste or heartburn. Sweet but not too sweet. — 3 months ago
The oak has integrated from my previous note in February 2017 where the influence of oak Barriques was overly present. Sangiovese is not enhanced by too much oak in my opinion and is best matured in large Botti like I said in my previous note like Biondi Santi. Red cherry and earth notes finishing with powdery tannins. Coming together. — 4 months ago

Cracked the 2010. Still young but really good. Not shut down or reticent like other reviews I read. Epic Sangiovese. — 9 years ago

solaia 2004. leather and plum. probably would’ve been an even higher rating if i wasn’t congested. paired with lamb chops and osso buco — 2 months ago
Really no need to write this up because it's one of my go-to's. I guess i haven't posted 2019 on Delectable, but it's always consistent and it's just right with my skirt steak and chimichurri. Yeah, it's 50 degrees out so I fired up the grill! Happy Valentine's, my loves!

Medium red garnet , quite narrow ruby garnet rim . Quite open with tobacco , spice , charcoal , plum, cassis , truffle , cedar . Good cedar , cassis and blackberry , dusty tobacco . Well balanced acidity and quite dusty tannins . Good tobacco , dusty cassis tinged finish . Perfect now and over the next 5-10 years , at least in magnum . The name of the estate comes from "Ca' Pazzo", shown on ancient maps. Caparzo is owned by Elisabetta Gnudi Angelini, she also owns Altesino, her signature is on the label! Deep Ruby with berry fruit aromas with cedar, herbs and smoke, aged for 2 years on oak. On the palate sour cherry, plum & radpberry flavors, with leather, cacao, spice and tobacco notes. Lively acidity, fine slightly drying tannins, long ending with spicy herb oak finish. Nice, drinks well, decant! — 6 months ago
From the makers of Sassicaia, Deep Ruby color with aromas of fresh red & black fruits and earthy floral notes, 60% Cab Sauv 40% Merlot blend. On the palate flavors of currants and blackberry with mint, licorice, cacao and earthy notes, well integrated. Fine tannins, approachable, a wine with a solid structure, elegant and smooth, long finish, great mouth feel ending with fruit and grntle oak. Will age well over next 5+ years. Nice! — 7 months ago
Acidic, black pepper, funky, nice tannins, medium body. Really enjoy it! — 7 years ago

Loved it! Unlike that last Chianti I tried which took an hour to open up (starting WAY too fruity and milding off), this was delicious right away. Started very earthy and drinkable immediately, the earthiness became less pronounced and became slightly more fruity as it opened. Excellent wine! — a month ago
