A fantastic '79! Slow-ox for 4 hours and decanted into a carafe just before serving. Wonderfully meaty nose combining a savoury pungency of sundried tomatoes and black pudding with tones of strawberries and sweet morello cherries, and just a hint of anise and cloves at the back. Fantastic density of character with pronounced yet balanced acidity, just a hint of life-affirming tannin and great length. Carrying its age with dignity yet with a hint of youthful virility - still a spring in its step - a Patrick Stewart of a wine. — 8 years ago

This may sound silly, but I bought this bottle after watching a Martha Stewart cooking show on preparing Coq Au Vin. Yeah, I admit it, Im A Martha Stewart fan . She said" I always use my finest cognac."

Yes I paid a small fortune to cook chicken with cognac, but I followed the recipe.

I'm not a big cognac guy, but ...........................

Very smooth, my guests love this stuff, and the dinner was a hit too.

A rare Napa Valley Albariño from the Stewart Ranch in Carneros, close to San Pablo Bay. Beautifully complex nose with ripe white peach, camomile, jasmine, lime and a distinctive oceanic minerality. On the palate it is bright and energetic with very pure juicy white stone fruit, crispy acidity, impeccable balance and a long mineral-driven finish to the point of feeling salty. A terrific wine!
