Good medium red; not particularly saturated but with a healthy rim. Alluringly scented, wild-yet-somehow-refined aromas of musky raspberry, strawberry, rose petal, brown spices, cedar, underbrush and coffee; this smells sweet! Silky, stylish and weightless, showing lovely stemmy definition and lift to its flavors of wild red berries, mocha and dried flowers. Not a particularly dense or fleshy style but an alluring, vibrant drink that's perfect right now. In fact, in spite of its intense fruit component this wine may only thin out from here. This subtle, elegant Clos des Lambrays finishes with a firm dusting of tannins and a light touch. (13.7% alcohol; 3.59 pH; 3.5 g/l acidity) (Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, April 2019) — 7 years ago
Smooth, brick red with brown edges. Light tannins. Medium body. Perfumed nose. Subtle blackberries, plums, and lavender notes. — 7 years ago
Very approachable 2013. Beautiful on PnP, but benefits from 2 hrs in the decanter. Very balanced. Blue and Black fruits along with some smoke and brown sugar. Tannins are already rather ripe, but will definitely benefit from some time in bottle. — 8 years ago

Fab St J drinking great @ £79 just past it's peak so enjoy now 👍

Lovely sweet white wine. Buy it every time I’m in NM. — 7 years ago
Big surprise with this wine; brown color but it had something going on can’t say fruit but not austere or vinegary. Actually opened a bit after awhile. Got this from my friend Andy in the 90s. The bottle was also recorked in the 90s as well and the recorker did a good job as the cork came out easily. — 7 years ago
Tawny amber color. Translucent with a heavy weight in the glass. Has a hotness in the nose and almost seems a bit fortified in the mouth. Notes of brown sugar, mocha, some pepper and sherry. You can definitely feel the power and weight of this wine, but we suspect this has turned a bit to become a little bit madeirized. Still a memorable experience. — 8 years ago
Thought by RC to be dead but really excellent. Probably fruit forward in youth but now nicely resolved and full of earthy secondary notes of dark fruits and minerals and earth. Long finish and fragrant nose of ripe fruits. Gerhard Revere dinner 8/21/26. — 9 years ago
Perfect paired with post rehearsal pizza and Twin Peaks. And alliterations. — 10 years ago
An early evening HH at home with a fabulous Bordeaux wine. Color is a dark brown especially on the edges Red fruit and dark plum with a subtle barnyard lingering on the nose. Tastes of black fruit, currant and leather with earthy and smoky flavors and a sweet finish; tannins are mild and drinks smoothly. — 6 years ago

Surprised to learn it's a merlot/Malbec blend. Drinks like a rose even if it doesn't look like one! — 9 years ago
