This was one of the best visits we had. It was also the most beautiful. The best in Chile and right in there with the very best sites we’ve seen in all our wine region visits.
They have their wine program dialed in and do everything right. All their practices are organic/biodynamic. They also control every aspect of them start to finish. There is no money spared or practices skimped on.
On the nose; dark currants, smoldering ambers, elegant spice, incense, cinnamon, light clove, vanilla, blackberries, black raspberries, black plum, plum, dark cherries, some black licorice, elegant minerals, soft loamy soil and fresh dark floral with violets.
The body is beautiful and full. The tannins are velvety, round and just a touch sticky. The structure, length, tension and balance are excellent. Dark currants, smoldering ambers, elegant spice, incense, cinnamon, light clove, vanilla, ripe; blackberries, black raspberries, black plum, plum, dark cherries and strawberries on the edges. Some black licorice, elegant minerals, tobacco, beautiful medium spice, underbrush, used leather, crushed rocks, soft loamy soil and fresh dark floral with violets. Beautiful round acidy. The long, elegant, ripe, beautifully balanced finish is lovely and goes on for minutes.
The Photos don’t even come close to how beautiful their property and view are. It would have helped if the fog had not be in. It’s a stunning view. Photos of; their Estate vines as seen from their hillside hosting terrace. Eduardo who handles all their vineyard practices and set up their biodynamic program. He is an amazing person to talk vineyard management..,not to mention a very nice and salt of the earth person. Examples of all the different organic products they make and use in the vineyard to keep it and the echo system in perfect balance. Last but not least, the beautiful Andes Mountains as again seen from their hillside terrace. — 8 years ago
Day 3: Big, black chocolate nose, with baked blackberry, black olives, and charred beef ribs charging from the glass. The floodgates have finally opened, and it was worth the wait! There is fresh cocoa bean pods and a jungle of flora; rosemary and iris extracts and an oatmeal raisin aspect to the perfuming.
Just the right texture for the pungent hothouse welcome: grippy and coarse, with a bitter chocolate and raspberry interplay, and a single unforgettable graphite and smoky slate backbone; unwavering in the churn of black currant, pepper, eucalyptus, leather and tobacco. Léoville Poyferré's high octane new world Malbec that puts a LOT of stick about! It also has an elegance, as all good dominatrixes should! You'll get a kick out of this! #LéovillePoyferré #bordeauxandburgers #argentinawine #Argentina #malbec #malbecmalbec #newworldmeetsoldworld #CuvelierLosAndes #andes #grandmalbec #ucovalley #uco #mendoza — 9 years ago
Intense full bodied red of Malbec and Cab Sauvignon, rich silky plums raspberry, smoky, leathery, but of tannins need lots of time to breathe, and great with spicy dishes. — 10 years ago
You just can't beat a Malbec from Mendoza, Argentina. This one didn't disappoint. Very smooth and not much of a spicy finish but still a great Malbec for the price. — 10 years ago
A very round, well balanced cab. I imagine a light purple stratocumulus cloud at the tip of the palate; not overwhelming, but present in an enjoyable way. Yes. — 11 years ago
Great wine for the price. A very different bright citrus/ grapefruit on the nose, with a bit of chocolate, mint, eucalyptus underneath. Opens up to a distinct sage element. Easy drinking with only a moderate finish, but good flavor — 8 years ago
Tropical fruits, honey, unoaked or minimal race of it. Med plus body and acidity. — 8 years ago
Wonderful Argentinian Red Blend from a French producer. Malbec (60%)Syrah (20%)and Cabernet Franc (20%). Deep purple color. Aromas and flavors of chocolate and hazelnuts (Nutella), and beef jerky with a great peppery finish. (The Syrah!). Beautiful velvety texture. My new favorite Argentinian. Thank you for bringing this one, Kase! Revisited in May 2020. Still outstanding! Vanilla is more pronounced. Revisited again in January 2021. Still beautifully balanced. — 9 years ago

Good blend of grapes, creating layers of dark red fruit complemented by hints of vanilla and mocha. More balanced than a spirit level. €10 Supervalu offer. — 9 years ago
Nice amount of oak, idk if spice is the word is for me, more of a musky goodness. Hints of guava. — 9 years ago
This is a special bottle of wine--I've never experienced Argentina at this level. The cassis, the eucalyptus, the structure, the Bordeaux earth. Just getting started. — 10 years ago
Fruity, 12% alcohol. Get it — 10 years ago
One of the best Merlots ever! Wonderful apple and strawberry nose. Smooth and moderate tannins with a hint of leather and moderate acidity. Not overly sweet like the nose would indicate — 11 years ago
Wonderfully strong and decadent! This Malbec is a deep dark purple in color with a powerful core of blackberry and blueberry with an exterior edge of vanilla and light green stick notes. The palate is lush with these darker fruits notes finishing with an excellent fade of coffee and cocoa. — 11 years ago

Still young now, but very enjoyable by itself, and better with BBQ Meats. I paired it with a cheese platter, crackers and nice company.

At the Downs Club Magnum Dinner and this was a great way to finish the evening with a Magnum of Warres VP. Just a medium ruby in colour. Typical burnt rancio notes. Resolved tannins and spirit - drinking beautifully at its peak. Drink or hold for a few more years. — 7 years ago
