Spier Cab Sav. From the established, albeit too touristy and commercialised Spier farm. Absolutely brilliant. From the Private Collection. Vintage 2015. Arguably one if the best products from the Spier stable. — 7 years ago
Nice red. Went down smooth and wasn't harsh other my steak. I'd buy it again. — 8 years ago

My first Pinotage ever. Visited the Spier winery in the Stellenbosch region in South Africa during the 2010 World Cup. Because of this wine, I now always look for Pinotages. You can't go wrong with this wine or varietal. — 10 years ago

Wonderfully spicy, deep flavor profile. — 13 years ago
— 7 years ago
Cracking wine! Lemon yellow colour. Grassy asparagus flowery nose but no acidic nose. Verveine on nose.
Waxy, full bodied, long finish. — 8 years ago
Light, easy to drink. Slightly fruity but not sweet. — 8 years ago
Man, I'm convinced that Spier doesn't make bad wine - at least not under the vintage collection. While the Pinotage has long been a favorite sub-$20 bottle of mine, I've never tried the Shiraz.. but I must say, I am pleasantly surprised.
Definite tobacco, cedar, and charcoal on the nose. Lovely red fruit, vanillin, textured mouthfeel, with loads of pepper and spice on the finish. I usually don't care for Shiraz, but this one is more restrained than Aussie Shiraz, which may be why I like it so much. Balanced, finesseful, but with enough density and character to turn a few heads. Very nice effort. — 9 years ago
South Africa is upping their game. Nice and fresh. Just enough citrus and fruit to make you think it's still summer!
Good buy at $16.95. — 9 years ago

Bought this to cook with but also wanted to drink it too. Very drinkable. Usually choose malborough region but tried South Africa because of price. Not able to identify any flavors or aromas. Tastes like a full bodied Sauvignon Blanc. — 7 years ago
Lovely South African sparkling wine pretty good imitation of Champagne. Light mouth feel and clean nose makes for food pairings delight — 8 years ago
