Citrusy with a strong aroma of orange zest, fresh coriander and sal del mar, finishing smoothly with a palate cleansing clean high acid taste. Pairs well with salmon, sautéed mushrooms, summer evenings. — 9 years ago
Alive and well. Pure, plump fruit, velvety tannins with just a whisper of sour/dried tomatoes on the finish. — 10 years ago
Grilled rack of lamb and screaming good Napa Cabernet. Not the caliber of their 07, but delicious none the less and I think it just a matter of style. What a day! — 11 years ago
Let this wine breathe! It is exquisite even before you let it breathe, but letting it breathe makes it 10x times better. The smell is enough to feel as though you already took a sip. Once it has breathed and you take the first sip, It immediately hits the tongue strongly, as it does back of the tongue. Extremely smooth going down. Leaves you with a bold taste on the middle and back of your tongue afterwards, but not strong enough going down to make it distasteful in the end. — 8 years ago
I know this is a mass produced winery, but this single vineyard wine is phenomenal. Had the '05 a few months ago and thought it was in a great spot. In-laws wanted to stop by while we were here, and they kindly poured us this '04. They are about to put the '04 vintage away for 10 years. Already in a great spot now, in 5 years, this will peak. Pepper, fresh earth, leather and boysenberry on the palate. One of the best '04s I've had. — 9 years ago

Great nose and full of flavor! Got a great deal in Florida and wasn't disappointed!! Could use a little age and an easier finish, but some really good stuff! — 10 years ago
1992. Would have been better 5 yrs ago but still very nice with dried more than fresh fruit (prune/raisin more than plum/ grape) but still a touch of tannin on first opening. Definite cedary Napa dust gives a bit of structure. — 11 years ago
Dark aged coloring, still has vibrancy, spicy noted through and through, vanilla. Long finish. Oak and alcohol are well balanced, reminiscent of cognac. Held nicely up to Mu Shu Pork dinner. — 9 years ago
Fruit forward, deep red purple color. Mouth feel is awesomely smooth all the way through the finish. This is a favorite of mine! — 10 years ago
Staglin is one of my favorite wineries! This has lots of oak and leather on the nose. Hints of black fruit. Black berry and plum on the palate. Still needs a couple years to round out — 11 years ago
Wish I would've showed a little more self control and opened this guy in 2020. Darker side of fruit for most Napa Cab Francs that I run into and this wine was a little rough around the edges, which I welcomed because I sip on well behaved wines very frequently. Dark fruits and a solid sentencing of oak make this wine fall into the category of big, but not burly. Beyond is unique representation of the varietal, its a welcomed interpretation. — 11 years ago

Bit of a fruit bomb. Solid but not a ton going on here. — 8 years ago
