Delicious deep red, from engagement parties! Good with steak! Night John cooked up Ana amazing dinner — 6 years ago
Randomly smelled like sharpie. Fantastic as it opened up. Lots of pepper on the back end. Such an interesting Syrah out of Walla Walla. So glad we have a few more bottles. — 8 years ago
On a crystal clear sub-zero, star bright night, the snow pack on the mountains gleaming and the fire roaring we attended the first of several parties for friends moving to the interior of BC . We opened the night sharing another of our old loyal friends that never lets us down Taittinger Reserve Brut Champagne. Still lovingly family owned in an age of conglomerates “Old Taitts” blends 40% Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunière into a superb blend that giggles on the light and cheery side. A lovely aperitif to start a night with old friends. 12% alc/vol Cheers 🥂 — 8 years ago

Medium length on the finish with soft tannins and tangy strawberries.
This is probably my first time having Barbera from Lodi, California. Well balanced and interesting with a nice mouthfeel.
I could definitely smell and taste Lodi, but I won't be able to get the Barbera at a blind tasting. Feels like a lighter Zinfandel from Lodi, with more acidity then expected. Definitely has nice acidity for a Lodi red.
Alcohol is high, but not too noticeable. Good by itself or with food. Good for parties too.
Needs an hour to open up properly.
Nice and engaging and easy drinking and a good everyday wine. I paired it with fatty cheeses, almonds and dry fruits.
Mainly Barbera grapes, with a touch of Petite Sirah, were handpicked and aged in French and American oak barrels for 20 months (24% new).

This is a nice surprise. A wonderful Cabernet from San Antonio Valley. This 4 year old is peaking now. Well-balanced with nice complexity and a great mouthfeel. Rich, spicy and extracted, but not in your face, kind of red.
Good right out of the bottle and better as it opens up (30 minutes).
Great for parties or as a sipping wine by the porch. Enjoyable by itself or with food, like a nice piece of steak.
Showing lots of sediments, so probably unfiltered.
A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Petite Sirah. Aged in French oak (20%), for 9 months.

Ellen Clifford

This wine throws parties that go late but not too late full of characters but polite ones and also invites you to dinners with other intellectuals that go late and are rich but get deep and down to life on earth. Which is to say it hints at decadence but is cool with just having like, a real deep conversation on literature. Full of blackberry and cassis fruit but with baking spices and something that says mud delicious mud. Vibing with tannins that aren’t knitted in and a certain element that satisfies but leaves you unsatisfied so you take another sip and it may be on purpose to remind you you are mortal. — 4 years ago
